Q & A

READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4 5 303 303
Bare Minerals, I can't quit you! I used Bare Minerals Original Foundation for a year and when I ran out I went back to my "old faithful" (Clinique). I immediately started breaking out and my skin looked so shiny/oily by lunch time. I ordered the BM Ready Foundation with the Precision brush and the Ready Translucent powder with the Soft Focus brush. My skin literally started looking better after the first day I wore it! I will never switch away from Bare Minerals again! Lesson learned! I prefer the Ready foundation over the Original for the convenience of having a compact and I MUCH rather prefer the Precision brush over the Flawless brush I had with the Original. I wore Medium Beige in the Original and still wear it with Ready. I highly recommend this product, you won't regret it. My skin has never looked better! 01/26/2016
The reason I returned to Bare Minerals This is my absolutely most favorite product of Bare Minerals. The coverage is excellent. It's light. I can where it all day. I can sweat in it. I get compliments all the time. I don't break out from using it. In fact I had to discontinue using most foundations because they didn't where well over time and would make me break out. Please, please, please do not discontinue this product. I love it so, so, so much. 01/23/2016
Great choice I have used this for a few years. I love the coverage for slight imperfections and it lasts a long time. 01/12/2016
not the best While I do love bareminerals in general, this foundation didn't work for me. I have very oily & dry skin. After a few hours, the foundation leaves a white-ish residue around my mouth and cheeks. It almost looks like I have really dry skin when it's just the foundation. Also, it settles into the lines on my forehead. 01/04/2016
Best mineral foundation pressed form... I have used this since it was first sold.. I kept hoping that BM would make the minerals in a pressed form... Love love love it... IT does everything it claims, long lasting full coverage, good for you, creamy feeling, and pore covering. I did have to go a shade darker than what I wear in the loose minerals. Find your shade and you will love it too !! Thx.. 12/23/2015
Not The Best. It doesn't work very well with dehydrated or dry skin. It also doesn't work very well with my moisturizer. After applying, I had the "cakey" problem. I prefer the bareskin and original foundation. 12/17/2015
Wonderful I discovered this powder almost a year ago when I went to Sephora with the intention of buying a fundation from their own line. My skin is kind of pale and it was specially difficult for me to get a good light fundation that could match perfectly to my skinshade but, when the girl from the store told me about this foundation, I saw the result in my skin and I fell in love inmediately! It feels like if you were not wearing nothing at all, the result is amazing, very natural and it's perfect for everyday use... but it's important to find the color that matches your skin and this is another thing I really liked from this brand: they have a great variety of shades for their products so you only have to ask the proffesional of the store to find the right one for you. 11/29/2015
If you are looking for weightless, and flawless finish - here's your product! I love this product! I tried to use bare essentials in the early 2000's, and I bought multiple shades and tried to mix them numerous times to get the right shade and coverage and never found it. I was disappointed. I tried this and never looked back! I was in a Sephora and couldn't believe the number of shades! I had one of their consultants take one look at my skin, pulled the shade and it matched! I bought the precision brush too. I just couldn't be happier and it's so NOT time consuming! (I'm flashing back to liquid foundation and heavy powders! The time it took to apply it just right and match the colors, blah, blah, blah! LOL) This is easy peasy and beautiful ! 11/20/2015
Second times a charm! I was skeptical to try this again. My first experience was not good. But after getting shade matched, correctly, I'm loving this foundation! I have this in shade golden tan and I usually wear golden medium. The golden tan is a perfect match! It looked a little too dark, but once blended in, it is perfect! Plus my skin looks so smooth! I only gave it four stars because it doesn't seem to stay on as long as the original or matte in my t-zone, but it's not like its gone in a couple hours either. Over all, this product has become a quick favorite and I'm so glad I gave it another try. Definitely get shade matched if you didn't have a good first impression. 10/31/2015
Great product but can't get a color match! I love the simplicity of this product - just a few swipes and I'm done! I've been in the boutique at least three times to get color matched and sadly, I just am not happy with any color! I don't have this problem with any other BM foundation. The first time I bought Medium Tan (gosh, don't know what they call it now - so confusing with all the letters/numbers they assign to the products) and it matched fine. The next time I bought it, the color was too dark. I've tried Med Beige (too light) and Golden Beige (too yellow). Frustrating because the lighting in the store is so dim (goodness, you REALLY need to fix that in the Greenville, SC location!) and when you get home it's all UGH. Did you change the color formulations? All I know is I'd love to use it, but I can't. It would be so helpful if you keep the color names the same over the different foundation lines too! 09/30/2015

I wear medium beige in the original foundation. I heard shade matching in the ready can be tricky so I got matched in a boutique. She matched me to medium beige and it looked great. But I don't feel I'm getting the coverage or the color. What am I doing wrong? Am I in the right shade?

I was a medium beige in the original foundation and I was happy with the medium beige in the Ready foundation. Since it is getting near summer and I am getting a tan, I use medium tan and it matches my skin perfectly.

I have used this product for a year or more. I get to use about half the product in the compact and then it cracks and breaks, making a huge mess, and is unusable. I use the recommended brush, and it doesn't seem to make any difference. I like it otherwise, but it is expensive when I can't finish using the foundation. Do you have any recommendations? I get it usually at Ulta, and they have been terrible in helping me with this problem.

I'm not sure why it's breaking. Are you maybe pressing to firmly with the brush when applying? I use a light even brush stroke to the compact and repeat until I get the perfect coverage. I've never had an issue with mine breaking. Only time it gets a little crumbly is if it's almost out and only a small amount of foundation powder is left around the edges. I usually just throw it away at that point.

Hi, I also have fairly oily skin and started using the ready compact foundation. It worked for 2 months but now I'm noticing my skin to get oily again. I think it's because this particular product is supposed to be hydrating the skin, as it says in the description. You may want to try the loose powder, although I have yet to try it.

Well they have translucent and the other color which is light, and translucent is lighter than light so maybe you looked at the wrong time?? Other then that medium light is not almost the same, its little darker then light but then agian its lighter than medium. So its in the middle, this color is more of a mixture color as if you were in between the same colors for your skin.

Fairly Medium isn't the same because you were using a neutral undertone and this one has a pink undertone. Medium Beige would probably be the closest to the one you were using. Go to a store that sells it and have them put some on your face in this shade.

Well, yes and no, becuase I dont really nesseary put too much on but if i do you have to use the right cleanser to get it off. I use their make up wipes to get all the access off, and then I use Orgins (another face/beauty company) face wash which is called, Checks and Balances. :)

Hahaha, alright, alright, to be honest, I wouldnt do either. Usually this foundation comes with a pad to apply on your face but if you dont want to use it then I suggest to go buy a brush from them to apply to your face so it can be even and perfect. If you just use your finger, bacteria will go on your face and clog your pores. And a cotton ball wouldnt really apply very well, and it wastes more of your product. So I highly suggest you getting proper tools for your product so it can be properly and easyily applied. I hoped I helped!! :)

Honestly the best way to apply in my opinion is with a dense flat top brush. I personally love the sigma f80 flat top kabuki... That's what I use and I get so many compliments that my skin looks natural and flawless... If your going to use such a great foundation you might as well get the best result by using a good brush. Bare minerals has their READY Precision Face Brush that works great also... Hope this helps... I probably wouldn't use a cotton ball though

The only successful way to apply this makeup, since really it's a compact powder, is to use the precision face brush. There's a great video on the foundation's page that shows you how to tap and then apply in long strokes, and it results in AMAZING coverage. The way the foundation is made there's just not really a good way to get around using it or a kabuki brush. I know it's a little pricey but it is SO worth it and you never have to buy it again-- this coming from someone who doesn't have very many pennies to spare! Hope this helps!

I think a brush is needed, a cotton ball or your fingers will just put the product in one spot. This foundation blends so nicely into the skin, but it won't without a brush in my opinion. I left my Precision Face Brush at my vacation home, and now use a big fluffy brush, or a mini kabuki, and get a nice medium coverage.

My Rosacea prone areas seem to get blotchy and the foundation doesn't cover well (nose and cheeks) Is my foundation too light?, am I not blending enough? It doesn't do it when I apply a very light application but I need to apply more for the coverage. The more I apply the worse it gets

With me, a really good moisturizer before I put the base on has done wonders for this. If the more you out on, the more bothersome it is, you could also probably stand to have a darker foundation. I'm fair but had to go from R170 to R250. Hope this helps ya!

I am not a professional makeup artist or anything but I have tried both formulas and work outside no matter how hot or cold it is.

I think (at least with my skin, yours may be different) they both last about the same in the heat and they both will wipe off while using a napkin. I have used both with and without primer. The Ready foundation, I feel, does a little better than Bareskin without a primer as far as last power. However, while using a primer, I feel the Bareskin does better and looks better throughout the day (more natural, not like a mask) while working in the heat and sweating (a lot).

Yes, umm hellooooo!! Its the best for really oily skin!! I have a combination of dry and oily and it controls shine and everything. It also makes your skinvery soft too. Although dry skin is the issue, but i figured that you have too obviously apply primer in order to make your face smoother and softer then ever right? I hope I helped!!! :)

I think you will like this for sure! My skin is very oily during the summer months, and this foundation does the trick. No shine at all; by the end of the day my skin looks like I just put on foundation. I would definitely give it a go. Get shade matched first since it will make all the difference.
