READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null
I cannot believe how good my skin looks with this fantastic compact powder foundation! I am 61 years old and have a dryer skin and I love a medium to full coverage so I use the precision face brush with it. My skin just glows with this make up and it doesn't seem to settle into my fine lines. I love that it has an SPF 20 in it as well. Take note that you will have to go for a darker shade because I have a light to medium complexion with pink undertones and the best color for me is (R310) for medium to tan skin. Don't be afraid to go darker because this make up is so easy to blend and is seamless!
I just happend to walk by the bare minerals section at the mall and tried it instantly fell in love!! I've been trying it out for about 4 weeks now. Amazing coverage, light on the face, it's wonderful for oily skin it lasts me all day. So far it's the best foundation I have used!!
I really wanted to try a pressed powder foundation and this just wasn't it. I like the matte loose powder 1000x better. this just made me appear like a really weird shade. I got the deepest dark I believe though i was a golden dark in the matte. sigh
I really love this foundation. It gives me just the right amount of coverage without being too heavy. I previously used MAC's studio fix and found myself liking Ready more. It doesn't feel cakey the way MAC's did.
I've read other reviews of this product, and it's strange how everyone's skin reacts differently to certain products. I have a very oily t-zone and didn't find this to be too heavy nor prone to breakouts. If anything, I've been seeing less since my products transition.
My recommendation is just to try it and see if it's for you. If not, you can either exchange or return it, ya know?
Eh, not the best
I had really high hopes for this product and I really wanted to like it. I got it as a less messy alternative to the original foundation. Additionally, my skin was feeling really dry so the hydrating benefits were also appealing. Unfortunately, this foundation was really disappointing. It settles into the fine lines of my face and I get really oily in my T-zone using it. When my T-zone gets oily this foundation instantly breaks down and looks horrible. I get maybe an hour or 2 of good wear out of it. Mind you, I have combination-oily skin in the summer, I am far from an oil slick, and this product made me look like a grease ball.
I have been using Bare Minerals for over 14 years now and have always loved it. When they first came out with the Ready Foundation I bought it and was very happy with the product. However, when I ran out and went to buy a new Ready Foundation the product had been changed. I tried two different compacts and had the same result: could not load the brush...are you kidding me? Why would you change a good product and produce something so inferior? In order to use makeup you actually have to be able to get it on your face. I'm so disappointed in the Ready Foundation.
light medium ready foundation
I love this product because it has great coverage as well as it is easy to use and lasts long. However, I have been using it for 2 months now and I began to notice that it's making my skin oily. I may have to switch to the loose powder.
It's not a terrible foundation. Very easy to use once you know the proper technique. But it's not something that I would repurchase. In fact I returned it to the BM Boutique b/c I didn't like the way it felt. It felt like I had a mask on my face. It felt like my skin couldn't breathe. What I like about BE is that it doesn't feel like I'm wearing makeup. This felt like I was wearing makeup. I did use the proper technique, which I learned from the online video posted on BE.com.
I also feel like the coverage isn't that great. I need a foundation that will do some of the leg work for covering problematic spots. It's good for non problematic skin (like my cheeks, jaw, and nose which is clear of any acne or spots), but for the places that aren't nice and clear (like my chin & forehead where I have dark hyper-pigmentation spots from acne scarring) it doesn't do a thing. I purchased the Warm Dark (R470) if that helps give anyone a clue towards my coloring (I would say I'm around Kerry Washington or Taraji P Henson's complexion with a warm undertone). I end up going between the Tan & Dark color range depending on the foundation (in Bareskin I use Bare Almond 16, in Matte & Original I use Golden Tan).
I switched it out for the Bareskin Foundation in Bare Almond 16 & the Blemish Remedy Foundation in Clearly Amber 10 (this one is exclusive to Sephora). The two of these together really nicely for me.
Hopefully this helped someone.
Medium tan ready foundation
I have owned bare minerals for years and when the ready foundation became popular. the last 3 medium tan ready foundations I have purchased are not good. At first when the shiny looking hardened formation formed on the top and the color was not going onto the brush I made a formal complaint to the place I bought it from. I considered a fluke and bought a second one. At this time I also bought a new foundation brush and thought maybe that would help. Again it happened. I purchased yet a 3rd try and it also does this. I own other shades and they do not do this. I love the medium tan for summer but am extremely angry about what happens to it. I literally had to chip it and use it when I loosened it up. One of the places I purchased it from said that they changed the stuff they make it with. Then why did the other shades not do this????
I have tried two different shades R250 first which was to light and looked very yellow then ordered R310 and also looks very yellow. The coverage is GREAT however just can't find the right shade I have wasted my $$. Sure wish the company would sell a small sample kit to try the shades. I have to order online and not able to go directly to a store.
