Q & A
READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 - null 4.2 5 134 134
It looks like I'm wearing TONS of heavy makeup. I've used the Original foundation for years. I love how natural it looks, but is also buildable for more coverage where I need it. Thought I'd try this as something to keep in my purse... The coverage was way too heavy. It does not blend into the skin the way the regular loose powder does. It sits on the surface and exaggerates every line and crease and gets cakey around the sides of my nose and my chin where oil accumulates. Also seemed to make my skin look flakey in some spots. Just too heavy and obvious looking. Also, the color was much lighter than the original powder foundation in the same color code. I returned it and ordered the original loose powder. 05/16/2013
A magic foundation I have very sensitive combination skin. My skin tone is also VERY uneven and there are truly no words to express how fantastic this product is. I have been wearing the loose foundation since I started wearing makeup, and whenever I would throw my foundation in my purse it would get everywhere. When the ready foundation came out I was a little hesitant but tried it anyway, and at first I was not fond of it. I eventually went to a boutique and got properly shade matched ( I was two shades darker than I am in loose foundation) and was shown how to properly apply the foundation. With the proper tools, the prime time face primer and the right brush, the effect it had on my complexion was remarkable! My face suddenly looked more even and hydrated. It also gave my face an airbrushed look. I instantly loved it! I will never go back to the loose foundation and the ready foundation is now a staple in my makeup bag! 05/13/2013
LOVE READY FOUNDATION!!! I was totally reluctant to purchase this for I have been a user of the BE loose powder for years, BUT as I have aged hyper-pigmentation has entered into my life and the loose power just does not give me the natural look and coverage I need and want. So although skeptical I figured try it because I knew I could return it and liquid just was not an option for me. You really have to follow the directions just like it says LIGHTLY TAP AND LONG STROKES to distribute. A little goes A LONG WAY! I LOVE READY FOUNDATION! I AM TOTALLY SOLD!! I have gotten so many compliments, my confidence is up and I love what I see when I look in the mirror. I use the neutralizing primer and the 2 together is just PERFECT CHEMISTRY! The only draw back is that the yellow in the primer does not totally cover the redness BUT it does reduce it so I will take that - regardless it is MUCH better than what I was working with. THANKS BE!!! PLEASE STAY TRUE TO ORGANIC BEAUTY!!! 05/11/2013
Love it! Wished I had switched to this sooner. I have Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis. The coverage is better than I expected, yet feels very light. If you apply it as directed, it really does look flawless. 05/09/2013
I tried READY Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 20 I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I am sold on this item. This is the best and most natural foundation I have used. I prefere it over the powder in the jar. I touch it to my skin instantly, it looks like my skin with total perfection. Not a Blemish nor uneven tone to me. I LOVE IT!!!!! 05/03/2013
READY foundation I have been using BE for 4 years now, but just recently tried the READY line. I really like it - but i did watch several videos on how to use the foundation before I bought it. The videos help tremendously. You really do not need much of this foundation at all - a few taps of my brush is enough to cover my whole face flawlessly. I would recommend getting color matched though, as I had to go up a shade. 05/02/2013
Just what I needed I've used the BM for years but lately the powder foundation was looking powdery on my older skin. This is wonderful! It glides on and blends well and allows you to build more coverage where you need it. YOU MUST 1. be color matched in person 2. watch the video about how to apply it. You don't swirl this one or you will have WAY too much. I went to Ulta to be color matched. I'm sure Sephora can also do it if you don't have a BM boutique nearby. I love it! 04/29/2013
Great! I'm not sure what these others are talking about, this is a fantastic product. I have used bare escentuals since I was a teenager. I love their products and this is no exception. I have struggled with acne most of my life but these products have helped reduce outbreaks. Just make sure when using this product to get the special brush. It does not cover as well with the buki brush 04/28/2013
HORRIBLE like the old style cake makeup! I LOVE Bare Escentuals and decided to give this a try! It's HORRIBLE!!! It makes me look like an old woman!! It stuck in every little wrinkle and just rode the top of my skin....very disappointing! And when I removed it, it doesn't remove very well!! I will stick with regular "loose" Bare Escentuals from now on, which is perfect!!! 04/25/2013
Best Foundation EVER! I LOVE this foundation . . . it's quick, easy, and offers full coverage. It's also easy to take along. I appreciate all of the shade choices; I wear fairly medium which is not available everywhere; this foundation IS my skin only flawless! Please make a travel size. I really love all of the Ready products and only wear them now. 04/25/2013

I come from HK. I went to the counter to try the new READY SPF 20 FOUNDATION. I found that the one in HK is different from the one in US. If I use color R170 in HK, which color is suitable for me with the one in US, fairly light or golden fair? Thank you.

A:
I do...but that's just me. It puts that extra barrier over your makeup to make sure every thing stays in the right place. I also look at the mineral veil as that extra boost to finish that glow the makeup gives everyone.

Yes, I do finish with the natural veil. I think it helps to set the foundation.
you know how a cream can enter into creases in your skin,,,, with the mineral veil to set it, this did not happen for me.

I am totally sold on this product!

This is in a compact. I barely touch the brush to the surface twice and then apply. The original is a loose powder that you get a little in the lid then you swirl your brush. The shades are totally different! You must be color matched. I use a fair in the powder but was matched to medium beige in this formula. I still use mineral veil as my final step to give me the "soft focus" look.

For light to medium coverage, you can still use the full flawless brush for the Ready foundation. For full/heavy coverage with Ready foundation, use the angled Precision face brush.

Try the flat head of the Precision Face brush. I prefer the coverage with that. Also, make sure it is clean because the texture seams more "creamy" than Original foundation.

You can stay with the full flawless brush, however, if you want fuller coverage you should use the Precision Face Brush which is recommended with the Ready foundation. It's a little on the pricey side for a brush ($28), but you can use it with almost any type of foundation that you want fuller coverage from, so I'd say it's well worth the cost!

I do use Bare Minerals moisturizer, prime time before applying foundation. I will try a layer of mineral veil between primer and foundation and see if it helps. It doesn't look so much like it settles into wrinkles. It looks like I have a patch of skin about the size of a quarter on each side of my face that looks shriveled. What am I doing wrong? I am 52.

Make sure you hit those spots with your Prime Time, and also make sure that it sets and is dry before you apply Ready. I had a similar experience, and not allowing it to dry properly was the culprit. Good luck!

I had a similar thing when I had a poor color match. Also, I was trying to use it like the Original and when I went with a lighter coverage and swipes rather than swirls the wrinkles went away.

I have the same problem, but on my forehead. There are absolutely no wrinkles visible until I put on the foundation. I even tried Primte Time under the foundation. The Prime Time made it more noticeable. Overall, it still looks really good.

The only thing that seems to help, is putting on just a little less on my forehead. I don't know if this is an option for you. I'm also going to try putting on a lot of moisturizer next time and see how it works. Maybe ask Bare Minerals staff? Or email them? I might if this next thing doesn't work.

It has a lot more of a Matte finish to me then the original. I like the original more now that i'm 60y/o and my skin is finally dry! also I think the color in the Ready is a lot lighter, so I Really suggest a color match at a store. Hope this helps.

I use the matte mineral foundation usually and I just switched to the Ready foundation. It gives the same type of matte-look that the mineral foundation does, except the texture is different. I will most likely return to the mineral in the summertime, but this product is perfect otherwise.

I have super sensitive skin - dry but acne prone - gotta love mid life. This foundation makes my skin moist - provides great coverage - and does NOT clog my pores. Goes on great over the origional skin rever upper - the glycolic and sylacilic acid are great for clearing up the skin. Hope this helps

no! my skin is so sensitive i thought i would never be able to find a foundation that wouldnt clog my pores ...this wont i promise i was just as skeptical as you are just be sure to wash your face morning and night and dont touch your face as with any skin care routine and wash your brushes once in awhile as those tend to harbor bacteria if not taken care of properly but anyways i would deff. recommend trying this stuff youll love it just remember hands off ur face wash ur face and take care of your brushes

Try to get into a boutique and try them out. I used Original Medium/Medium Beige but in the READY I found those were terrible matches and Medium Tan which I certainly wouldn't have normally considered was a great color for me. I even like it better than the combo loose. It really took experimenting for me to get the match.

It all depends on what the undertone of your skin is, and how you apply it. With neutral undertones, use Fairly Light. Different brushes, or sponges give a different application (one person can wear up to five different shades!), and lighting makes a difference as well. I suggest using the "Find your shade" app, or going to a BE store and try out some samples--whichever blends into your skin is the closest shade!
