Q & A

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Bare Radiance I've used bare radiance greater than 10 years. It just works for me. Love the product. 01/29/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Lots of unnecessary sparkle in this product. This product (Pure Radiance) was just way too frosty looking on my face. If I could suggest one viable change to bareMinerals, it would be to pull back a bit with the shimmer and shine. Packing a product with sparkles is not necessarily the answer to freshness, youthfulness or capturing that always coveted “healthy glow.” Using a light application still gave me a bit of an Ace Frehley vibe. Channeling KISS at work was, uh, not exactly what I was looking for, with all due respect. I returned this product, but would still recommend that others give it a try because it may very well work for you. 06/19/2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Aweseome I have so many of the different types mineral veils it's not even funny. They all have their uses and work well! 02/13/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Elegant peach This gives my light skin (yellow undertone) a beautiful soft peach color for a blush I just love all the Radiance's! 01/08/2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Can't live without Of all the Bare Escentuals products I use (BE makes up the entirety of my makeup and skincare products, other than my sunscreen), the radiance line of face products are the ones I absolutely cannot live without. On days where I don't care much about appearances, but know I'd benefit from a little something something, I use one of the three radiance powders I have. The pure radiance is perfect for the days when I need a little warmth to my appearance or during the months where I'm a skosh darker than normal because of the sun (I use ample sunscreen, but still end up a hair tan in the summer/fall months). My skin tone has elements of olive and yellow undertones with some red (go figure/yeah I'm weird). I have medium to fair complexion. A side note: My favorite of all of the radiance products was a limited edition 'secret radiance'. I wish I could find it again. =) 10/17/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by So many wonderful Uses I LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I use it every day. It is one of my favorite items. I use it to highlight my cheeks. and I also use it as a base color for my eyeshadow. It is a perfect color that looks great with any other eyeshadow color. 09/22/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by amazing i am of mixed race so its hard to find a shade of make up to match my skin but this one is amazing it adds the extra glow i wanted without anyone noticing any extra color this product is amazing. 07/08/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Highlighter ever! This product literally gives you a "lit from within" type of glow. It does not act like a blush (would probably work for Rose Radiance), but just highlights and illuminates your face. I love that soft, dewy, naturally luminous look and this product is essential to receive that. I use it after my foundation, but before the mineral veil, and sweep it over my cheeks, brow bones, bridge of nose, and chin. 06/03/2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Natural Healthy Glow I just purchased Clear Radiance and am so in love with the natural healthy glow it gives my skin. And it's unbelievable how tiny an amount is necessary to achieve that look. It truly brings radiance to my skin. 11/20/2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Truly radiant I use this product as I would mineral veil once I've finished my foundation and blush. And when I do, I look truly radiant! I think the first time I really noticed a difference was when I made a point to use this when I was getting ready for a holiday party. When the pictures came back, I was surprised to see that my skin looked good! Use this as a finisher after your foundation and blush--and an added bonus, it prevents that oily shine you sometimes get after a long day! 11/18/2013

I wear Light in the winter and Golden Tan in the summer when I have a tan. I have rosacea on my cheeks, sometimes with small blotches. What shade of Radiance should I buy? I can not have one with red tones, rather a shade that neutralizes the red areas on my cheeks.

Answer:
They both do about the same thing. I use the mineral veils when going out for the night because they are a little more sparkly. I would only use one or the other.

Answer:
The radiance is like a topping on your ice cream cone. Mineral Veil is the cone. Pure Radiance would be goon under or over the MV or Foundation.

Answer:
I use both. I use the mineral veil all over the face after applying foundation and blush, and then I apply the radiance to my cheekbones. I also sometimes use the pure radiance as my eyeshadow.

Answer:
Absolutely use both. The radiance should be used as an all-over face color (highlighting cheeks, chin, bridge of your nose ect...) The mineral veil is your finishing powder and should be applied last.

Pure, Secret, or Bare. The golden undertones in those radiance shades will counteract the redness in your complexion.

Answer:
I also have some redness on my nose, forehead, and the cheek area around the nose. I find using a little extra of my foundation (Golden Fair) on the red areas gives me an even complexion, and I don't have to worry about the Pure, Clear, or Flawless radiance colors making me look red... I hope this helps and good luck :)

Radiance is an All Over Color product. It is more of an accent the Faux Tan or Warmth, but can be used as an accent al over your face. I like it both under & over my foundation for that little extra glow.

Answer:
Radiance products just bring a light and glow to your face, whereas the colors will have a slight tint to them. I also have yellow undertones, brown hair, and blue eyes. I have fair skin, wearing a Golden Fair foundation, and so I find the face color products kind of detract from my natural skin tone color (which I think is gorgeous thanks to BE skin care). I just use the radiance to let my natural skin tone shine through... I hope this helps you and good luck! :)

Answer:
Radiance products are super sheer and add a soft illumination to your face wherever you apply them, they work as a highlighting product. The best spots are the high points of your face such as above your cheekbones, the bridge of your nose, etc. The All-Over Face colors are somewhat sheer also (more sheer than the blushes), but they add just a hint of color wherever they are applied. For example the Warmth All-Over Face color can be applied to the points on your face where the sun normally hits, like your forehead, chin, cheeks, tip of the nose, etc to give you a sun-kissed look. The Radiances have a sheer, soft bit of sheen to them, whereas the All-Over Face Colors tend to be more matte in texture and have a hint of color.

Answer:
I usually use Pure Radiance applied with a soft focus face brush all over my face. I have dark brown hair and wear Golden Fair, so I do have the yellow undertones, as well. It seems my skin is just a little more fair than yours, so I hope this helped :)

If the pure radiance is an all over color can it be substituted for the foundation? If not what's the difference?

Answer:
The difference is the radiances are lighter and don't cover as well as the foundations. I either use both, with the foundation first and a light dusting of the radiance or one or the other. When I'm lazy, just running errands for the day, or just having an amazing skin day, I just use the radiance powder and it gives a nice glow and covers some imperfections beautifully. I usually use the foundation on days where I just have to look more polished up or am having a really bad skin day.

Answer:
No it cannot take the place of Foundation. By all over face color they mean that you can use it anywhere on your face. It is very shimmery. It works great for Highlighting cheeks, nose forehead. But I also use it as an eyeshadow

Answer:
If you need great coverage, you really want to use the foundation. The radiance products are more of an accent or highlighter to your normal makeup routine. I like it under or over my foundation, depending on my mood. I actually mix radiance into my foundation since I blend two shades together & like the extra glow it gives.

Answer:
Pure radiance is a finishing touch. It has some sparkle and gives your face a luminous look. Foundation provides more of a cover for redness or blemishes. I would not use pure radiance as foundation and would not recommend that you do. Your face would not have coverage. Also pure radiance would not match your skin tone to be a foundation and it would be way too sparkly - very unnatural. Hope this helps!

Answer:
Foundation is a skin tone powder that hides the imperfections of your skin and even your skin tone. Pure radiance adds a nude sheen of color to your face. The face colors are not a substitution for foundation, they add color to your skin that is different from your skin tone to highlight your features. If you have even skin tone, no dark circles under your eyes, and no dark spots or scars, then you don't need foundation and you can apply pure radiance right onto your skin.
