Mineral Veil Finishing Powder Broad Spectrum SPF 25 - null
Needs To Be Bigger
You guys, I love this powder. It's probably my favorite of all the BM makeup line. The only thing is it's so freaking tiny for something that you use all over your face and for touch ups and whatnot. You end up using quite a bit, and I'm running out of this before any of my other products.
I did see that every so often BM has a promotion for a larger one. It also comes with a brush, which I have but hey, replacement brush. It's about $10 more, but I might invest in that once I'm out!
Product is great, packaging is not
I love the powder - pretty much hate the container. I so hope they address two issues with this product: the size is WAY TOO SMALL for everyday use -- it is a waste of plastic when you have to keep reordering. Not good for a company supposedly concerned about overall health and being conscious about the environment. There's a disconnect here. Secondly, it is very hard to operate the "filter level" with the tiny holes to get the product. It takes so long to get to the powder, especially toward the end when there's not much left. But you get so little of the powder originally, I feel like I want to use all of it. Please redesign this product packaging! And please make available the 28g size, which I got in some "special offer" and could not get again. So frustrating on many levels. But as I said, I love the product and how it is actually healthy makeup. That is the reason I am committed to this product and the other loose powders.
I have so many of the different types mineral veils it's not even funny. They all have their uses and work well!
perfect touch up
Mineral veil is the finial perfect last touch up when applying make up. It gives me a luminous glow and blends everything together. Thus, achieving a naturally radiant even skin-tone!
This is a necessity I have at all times, if you dont feel like re-applying your foundational powder, just go for this.
The best places to use is your T-zone = forhead, nose, cheekbones - dive slightly under the eyes and on both sides of the nose, and lastly the chin,
LOVE this product in the originial form.
Possibly my favourite bareMinerals product!
I LOVE my Mineral Veil spf 25. Love it! I usually put on my bareSkin foundation, then I use concealer if necessary as well as Stroke of Light under my eyes, and put Mineral Veil on before I do my face colours. It is amazing - it completely sets the liquid foundation and puts a beautiful polish on everything else. Plus, I absolutely love the fact that it's spf 25 because I know my face is protected as long as I'm wearing it. In fact, I went to Italy on my honeymoon and while I was there, unless I went swimming, I hardly ever wore "traditional" sunscreen on my face (and we were walking outside all day, every day) - I just used this, and re-applied throughout the day, and never once got a sunburn on my face. So amazing.
I LOVE this powder. I put it on over my foundation, and sometimes will use it as a touch up later in the day.
Not such a "veil" anymore
I have used this product for the past 2-3 years and just recently replenished. I had the same experience of another reviewer who said the new SPF left a white "mask" on her face. Sadly, this has also been my experience. This used to provide a wonderfully smooth complexion that was not obviously makeup, now it just looks like I've caked on cheap powder and then went to the gym. I'm extremely pale, so this is an achievement. I've tried it with my usual translucent mineral moisture (by another company) alone and with moisturizer alone and it has the same result. I have also used the other two products for the same amount of time and they have not changed. I'm very disappointed because, trusting the previously-consistent quality of the mineral veil spf powder, I bought a massive vat of it. Now I'm stuck with expensive powder that is honestly embarrassing to wear (my husband used the word "waxy" - yikes!). My only hope is that it will work as sunscreen for my body during the summer, though I'm skeptical about that. I'm switching brands.
I've been a bare mineral user for many years now and have always loved their product. Last month I went to restock on my mineral veil and was surprised and excited that the spf went up to 25. I'm no longer excited as now when I apply it, it's like wearing a white mask. The sell on mineral veil has always been that its sheer and right for all skin tones...I'm Chinese, so I have olive skin...no matter how lightly i apply it, it's still a white mask, ruining all the work I've done underneath it. I came on line to see if there were new tutorials thinking that perhaps with this new formula there was a new way to apply it...no go.
The only thing I thought the original mineral veil was lacking was some SPF because I like to have SPF 30 on my face during the day. I have used both versions of the mineral veil and love them. They go on weightless and don't add any "color" to your face, if you don't use the tinted, which is what I want. It truly is just a finishing powder to set makeup and give you that airbrushed finish, which sounds so simple but works beautifully and I wouldn't go without it :)
Perfect for sunny and minimal makeup days
I use this for days when I can't or don't want to put on full makeup. It's perfect for a completely natural look. I also use it when I don't put my sunscreen on - for the extra protection from harmful rays that it provides. The only reason I gave it four hearts instead of five is that it's drying to my skin (dry/sensitive), so I can't use it every day.
