Brown Eyecolor - null
'Summer' is just that!
Summer is a great brown for the summer months. It's my first "shimmer" and I love it. Just enough to add some dimension, but not too much that I look like I'm trying to be a teenager!
Love the Clay!
Have been using Celestine for years - both under and alone. Recently I've been bothered by the glimmer/shimmer/shine of it. Don't know if my eyelids are handling it differently or if I'm just seeing it differently. (I'm 65 - maybe that has something to do with it.?) In any case, the Clay appeared to be very close to the color of Celestine. I purchased one to try and absolutely love the matte finish. Will stock up and hope it's not discontinued in my lifetime!
This is a beautiful nude color. Slightly shimmery when the light hits it you can see a bit of soft pinky nude shimmer. It makes THE PERFECT lip gloss too!! Just mix it on the back of your hand with a tad bit of cocnut oil or aquaphor and Viola!!! The perfect-- not too pale, not too brown, not too pink, nude lip gloss!!!
Celestine, S Kitten, and Heat Wave
Celestine is one of my all time favorite eyeshadows because I can wear it every day, and I can blend it with so many other colors. I acually didn't know it would be categorized in the brown eyeshadows. it seems to be almost a titch on the purple side? I actually don't know if I can describe the color. BM can do that ;) But i love it and it can be used wet or dry for diverse looks. S Kitten has also been a long time favorite eyeshadow since 2007 for me, along with True Gold. Which btw, I love to pair true gold and s kitten together. S kitten is a beautiful shimmery brown and I can't live without it. Heat Wave was a limited edition brown that came in a Wanderlust Desert kit, but I am trying to preserve that one for as long as possible because it is also one of my all time favorites...wish they would make it a regular eyeshadow. It is brown and sparkly, but has a hint of purple in it. Oh man, it brought the green out in my hazel eyes so perfectly! Love these products. BM wouldn't let me write out the first part of s** kitten btw.
I needed a neutral taupe eye shadow & found CLAY to be perfect, although a bit on the gray side. The wonderful thing is that it stays on absolutely ALL DAY LONG. For me, that's a huge plus. I dip my brush in the pot & then tap it on the inside of the lid to get the excess off, otherwise it gets under & around the corners of my eyes. I'll definately be buying it again, when necessary.
Love this product!
I got hooked on this product since the first time I've ever used it and have used nothing else since. It can be a bit messy, but I just love it so much. I try to tap off the excess on my BE brush before I apply it to prevent dusting under the eye. I love the shimmer or glimmer eye shadows and have many colors that have been discontinued, it lasts forever. I think this is one of the best products that BE has.
(FYI: we need to make sure we leave the exact color we're reviewing since there are lots of different colors on most of the pages (BE you guys should add a field for the color in the review section) - the review doesn't just post to the color you bought; it posts to the page the color is on which almost always has a variety of other colors as well so if you don't identify the color you're reviewing we'll be confused and not know)
I bought the Wearable Brown Medium and the Wearable Brown Dark and love them both (and will be purchasing the Brown Light because I love browns and need all of the shades!)
The brown medium can be lightly applied for a medium shade or more heavily applied to reach a slightly darker shade. It glides on gracefully and it's fabulous.
The brown dark is a great dark and is fantastic to use as a liner as well - use it dry for a soft liner and use it wet for a more bold line (using it wet it's just like a regular liner). This is my primary intention for the brown dark because it is def dark and I don't like too much dark on my eyelid itself but it's the perfect color to use if you do like dark colors on your eyes and it's amazing as a liner (as a crease color too).
If you're into browns def get the medium and the dark brown - and I'd say get the light brown too even though I haven't tried it yet. I have complete faith in it due to my experience with the other two shades and it will be one of my next purchases.
I love this shadow it is the perfect color and a little goes a long way. It's a mixture of browns with a little golden shimmer. Enhances brown eyes to the max! Very beautiful!
I wanted a taupe-like color that worked well with fair skin tones. It's beautiful and understated, and the shimmer is not overwhelming. For winter, it's great because you can just apply a light 'wash' of color over the whole eyelid, and I didn't even have to worry about 'staying in the lines' because it just fills in perfectly. For summer, I suspect it will go perfectly with tanner skin. Overall, I highly recommend this shade if you are searching for a versatile taupe.
HARMONY - perfect neutral med-dark matte taupe
I recently purchased HARMONY looking for a darker taupe and I have found it! I have medium reddish brown hair, medium brown eyes, a fairish/medium Irish skintone with pink undertone. Harmony is the perfect neutral medium-dark taupe matte shade that is my daily go-to eyelid & crease shade when I'm wearing red tops & sweaters. In fact, I purchased it specifically to wear with red. But it works great with brown, black, green, blue, turquoise, plum and everything else too, I just happen to usually reach for Sure Thing when wearing other colors. I use it dry, just a light, even coat with either a stiffer crease eyeshadow brush or a sponge applicator wand over the entire lid and crease to give a smokier, defined eye without being too dark (I'm not into scary Goth dark). Brown eyes love taupe!! I also use it dry with a sponge applicator wand along the lower lash line as a liner and the color is soft & perfect, again without being too dark. I love this shade and will keep re-ordering as long as they offer it.
Note: as with ALL of the BE eyeshadows, you need to use a light, neutral light shadow as a primer over your entire eye area first. NEVER use BE eyeshadows directly on the skin, it ends up very splotchy. I have used Estee Lauder Sandbar Beige Matte for this purpose for years and highly recommend it.
