Well-Rested Face and Eye Brightener 3.7 5 32 32
Greatness I had received a full size sample from sephora a few weeks ago! And hadn't used it till one day! Now I'm all about going over the top on making the unders of my eyes bright! So when I first tried this gem I was besides my self! It cuts so much time out and gives me that desired brightness I love and need! I would tell everyone that this is a must in there make-up bag! Another home run on this one 05/02/2013
A must-have I have bought this alone and in a collection and will continue to buy! It works and always makes my eyes look rested and fresh! 04/28/2013
Sample that I'll buy again & again! I received a sample of Well Rested Face & Eye Brightener in a Sephora bonus. I was skeptical, but was incredibly surprised at how well it works. It's so easy to use, and is perfect for highlighting right under my brows, the inside and outside corners of my eyes. I love the pen format. I don't tend to have under eye circles, so I can't speak for how well it handles that issue. It's not sparkly, or shiny, just a nice highlight. If I use it in the morning, adding a tad more at the end of the day is a nice refresher. Once the sample's gone, I'll definitely be buying more! 03/29/2013
Beautiful! Gives a beautiful highlighted eye look. I do prefer the loose well rested to the pen, however, the liquid well rested does have an ever-so-slight of a natural shimmer to it that makes the brightening so beautiful. 03/05/2013
Terrible This is nothing like the original powder Well Rested. The powder was great at hiding little dark spots and as an all-over light concealer. I don't have big dark circles, but the powder form was always great for actually brightening my eyes. This makes them look saggy somehow. This product is watery, runny, and shiny...and does nothing for my skin. The applicator is hard to open and provides very uneven coverage. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR THE POWDER WELL-RESTED. I am thinking I will go back to using a different brand. This is not for me. I expect more from Bare Minerals. 02/25/2013
Seriously disappointed I received this yesterday with the expectation that it would be of similar consistency/coverage to the powder form. I have tried to use it multiple times and am just flat out disappointed. It is nothing like the original; it doesn't provide hardly any coverage. It literally only adds a little moisture and shimmer to your under-eyes, which creates a reflection of light...making your eyes appear brightened. The powder form actually does the job....so please bring it back! 02/17/2013
Great product that does WHAT IT SAYS. I have noticed people talking about "coverage" and the lack thereof. This product is NOT a concealer. The powder concealer or the "stroke of light" will help tone dark dark circles. This product is FABULOUS. for brightening the inner eye area, brow bone, couple spots on the forehead, and especially top of cheekbones which can be hard to do with a lot of products. I like this product for winter, because when I use all powder substances my face dries out and makes me look older than I am. I like that BE is starting to have more liquid or semi-liquid options. Per the dispenser... you have to watch the product come up the tube when you first use it. When it gets close to the brush, start clicking slower, then when it starts flowing out, from then on, ONLY click it 1-2 times at a time. Dab it along the area you want to high light, and then rub it in with your fingertips... it will blend pretty well the other make-up you have on. This product's packaging CAN be tricky to use, and it does not conceal dark spots. BUT this product it not a concealer, so people who have that complaint have bought the wrong product. If you go into a boutique, the workers there will tell you that the big difference in stroke of light and well rested is that well rested brightens the complexion but doesn't conceal. I like the well rested because it brightens without being sparkly- it looks more natural. The powder can be harder to blend sometimes and can sink into wrinkles/dry spots/ fine lines very easy. Just make sure you are buying this product for its intended purpose and you'll love it. 01/26/2013
Poor delivery system I was excited about this product since I have perpetual dark circles under my eyes. When I use it, it doesn't provide enough coverage for me, but that's not the problem. No matter what I did, I couldn't make the product flow our of the applicator. I turned and turned with no success. I called Bare Escentuals and was sent a new container - which isn't much better. I have to shake it, then turn it several times before any product comes into the brush, and often I get no result at all - or so much I can't use it all! So disappointed with this product because I really love Bare Escentuals and recommend it to everyone. 01/23/2013
Older under eyes finally get a break! I just turned 50 and find that powder concealers crease in my under eye area adding to an older crinkly look. Liquid concealers are about the same because the skin is getting very thin under my eyes. This product however, glides on smooth, stays smooth, doesn't sit in creases and brightens so I only need a very thin hint of powder cover for which mineral veil is perfect. I'm really hoping there is some bleaching because much to my chagrin I am getting those age spots under my eyes now too. Even if it won't bleach the age spots, I will definitely buy this product again. 01/19/2013
Subtle but noticeable First of all this is NOT a concealer. I was a little agitated reading negative reviews about this product. The product works well and does exactly what it claims to do (which is not conceal). If you are patient enough to click the pen a few times and wait to see what comes out you won't waste any. It visibly brightens without being sparkly. It blends right in to your foundation. If you have horrible dark eyes use something that claims to be a concealer to cover it. This is not that. It is light and not cakey and I can't even feel it on my face but do see a brighter difference. It's not a miracle worker- it's make up. It is meant to enhance your own beauty- not cover up your whole face in hopes of making you beautiful. 01/14/2013

The first time I used the brightener, a white liquid came out on the brush. The five days since, no matter how many times I turn the base, it appears nothing is coming out.... or it's a clear liquid.

Is it clear, am I doing something wrong or did I get a faulty applicator.

The descriptions for the Well-Rested Face and Eye Brightener and the Stroke of Light Eye Brightener are nearly identical, and these are both new products. Can you please explain the difference between the two? Thank you very much.

Stroke of light functions as a concealer and well rested is a brightener/highligher only. Well rested is not meant to conceal. I didn't want to admit it at first like one of the ladies at the boutique told me, but you may need both. The well rested is amazing and doesn't sink into any lines you may have, the stroke of light is really only meant for where a dark circle may be, DON'T put it too close to the under eye area and DON'T put it near any laugh lines near the eyes. The well rested it great for inner eyes, brow bone, and especially cheek bones. I think the well rested is the more important product, and you could use a lot of other concealers for any dark circles... I haven't found anything like the new liquid well-rested as far as brightening and highlighting.

I just happen to have both of these products. The Stroke of Light Eye Brightener has a more pearlized look. I use it on my lids and under the brow. It is so pretty by itself but you can add eyeshadow. The Well-Rested Face has more of a creamy look. It still lightens the dark circles and minimizes the lines on the under eye area.

If you want coverage around your eyes the Well-Rested Face & Eye Brightener is not what you want. I use the Stroke of Light Eye Brightener or the new SPF 20 Correcting Concealer around my eyes and then layer the Well-Rested SPF 20 Eye Brightener LOOSE POWDER over it for a flawless finish. I bought the Well-Rested Face and Eye Brightener and I absolutely hate it. It doesn't provide any coverage and it illuminates wrinkles around the eyes. Plus in my case it irritates my eyes and makes the water.

the pen is meant to be used as more of highlight on your face and to gee you a natural glow, while the eye brightener is more used to specifically cover dark circles and bring more light to your under eye area.

You pull the cap off to reveal the brush tip. Then, you hold the center of the pen itself and turn the base clockwise to have the brightener come up through the center of the brush tip. The first time, it takes 5-10 turns to come up through the brush. After that, just one turn, but each turn lasts a bit.

Hi Mrs. Y,
I hope that by now you have figured out how to use it, or at least still have it on hand.
Hold the product horizontal so that you can read the writing. Take the left cap off so you can see the brush. On the right you'll see the bottom of the product, which twists and makes a clicking sound every time you turn it clockwise one full turn. When using it for the first time, I suggest pointing the brush towards the ground and shaking the product so the liquid ends up near the brush end. Then turn the bottom of the product until you hear at least five clicks. Try applying the product via the brush. If nothing comes out, keep repeating the clicking and application until product reaches the brush and applies to your face. Hope this helps!

There should be directions! Pull the cap off and at the bottom of the wand is a twist portion. Turn that clockwise about 4 or 5 clicks. The Brightener drops out of the brush and is easily applied. I just love this product! Minimizes the dark circles and fine lines.

I had to turn it clockwise more than 5 times to get the liquid flow. Plus I turned it upside down. I think it had been stored upward.

You have to pull the top off (the black top) -- it takes a little bit of force but you have to just pull it off!
