Refillable Buffing Brush 2.3 5 54 54
very disappointed in product The product idea is a fantastic one, to be able to have a "all in one" at your finger tips when you need to freshen/touch up your face. Even after replacing a defective Refillable Buffing Brush, I still couldn't get the foundation out. The holder will get clogged and it seems the only way I can use the product is to; unscrew the bottom, VERY CAREFULLY shake a little of the powder into the brush cap and then use the brush to apply. After reading the other reviews, it appears that Bare Minerals customers like the product idea but wish it would work. I hope the mechanics can be resolved. 05/14/2013
Doesn't live up to claims I like BM matte foundation, however hate that my bathroom, makeup bag, and purse are covered in it. I saw this product and thought it would be a great solution to the messy powder. Unfortunately, it doesn't deliver. First problem is that BM foundation containers are not designed to open so that the powder may be scooped out and into the powder chamber of the refillable brush. I have found that the easiest way to get the powder out of the original container is to shake it over a piece of paper, then roll the paper into a cone shape and shake the powder into the empty chamber end of the refillable brush. It gets the job done, but is messy and time consuming. Second problem is that there is no way to increase the amount of product deposited. There are arrows at the bottom of the brush indicating that more or less powder will come out of the brush depending on which way you turn it. THIS DOESN'T WORK. No matter which way I turn the brush, very very very little product ever comes out. Overall, a huge disappointment. I wish BM would fix the design and allow those who wasted money on this piece of junk to exchange it. 03/08/2013
Junk Ordered 4 as gifts. I will be requesting a refund. 01/08/2013
Wonderful bush to use This is the second one I have gotten. Both 1st one and this new one are the same. Easy to take a part and fill with your favitor powder. It real easy to use and to take with you or if you do not have a lot of room for all your make up. 11/25/2012
clogged brush I first used a travel brush through Sheer minerals brand, and when i saw that BM had one I couldn't spend the $30 soon enough. But have not yet been able to use it. Regardless of how much product is in it, or what setting it is on, the product does not come out sufficiently to apply, I have to open it up and use a brush and it's a mess. I wish there was an upgrade available and we could return these. 11/04/2012
I've always liked the Mineral Veil, but the powder is so fine that I always have trouble with it flying up into the air when I tried to tap it out of the container. This brush completely solves that problem! I think that the issue a lot of people are having with this brush it that after the brush comes all the way up you have to keep turning it as far as you can to get the powder to come out. 10/17/2012
I agree with the comments about how hard the brush is to fill with powder. I think BM should revist that or better yet come out with an already filled container that you can just purchase to screw into the bottom. Once I got the powder filled and used in only once, I'm back for a second one to leave in my make-up drawer. I think this brush allows me to applied a more even coat of product. 06/09/2012
I Honestly Hate this Brush I received two of these and thought they were a great idea. I read the instructions and followed them carefully however, when the container was filled and screwed back on I could not get the brush to go back down. I tried and tried but it would only turn a fraction of the way to close. I then took the second one I received and tested the "turning" situation. It seemed to work just fine so I proceeded to fill the second brush with product. After completing this task and reading the instructions yet again to make sure I had not done something wrong I was again disappointed. Once filled with product the brush will not go down, close or turn to buffing, it just sits there and will not budge to close. I hate this product in that I tried with two brushes, carefully followed instructions and now I have these two brushes filled with my favorite product that are completely useless and of course, since my brushes do not work, I cannot retrieve the product back. What a waste of time and product. 06/07/2012
Hit or Miss When I bought this product I couldn't wait to try it, I thought it would be perfect to stick in my purse and it use it on the go, especially in the late afternoon to just re-vamp my makeup and make it look fresh again through the end of the day. After I finally was able to add a couple scoops of my foundation to the canister (which was a nightmare to get the plug off my foundation!) and after shaking the fill able brush continuously for almost a minute, the foundation finally came through the bristles in the brush. When I started to buff it on my face, way too much was coming out, it was very uneven and I felt like I was wasting my foundation because there was nowhere for me to tap off the excess, I just had to keep buffing it on my face until I had way too much foundation on. I really wanted this product to work but sadly it doesn't quite come up to par. I'll still use it, just with caution, it'll come in handy in a pinch. 05/26/2012
Maybe I am not doing it correctly I bought this for on the go makeup touch ups and have been disappointed since its arrival. I followed the directions to "t" and stil very very little product comes out on the brush. Can someone in Customer Service help me? Also I bought a max coverage brush and it looks like the bristles have been cut or something. What do I do about getting a replacement? 05/12/2012

I just purchased this item. I could open the old containers to get the makeup out but I can not open the new containers.

If you flip it over there's a plug on the bottom of the container you can semi-easily pop off with the edge of a dime. Getting the plug back on though is another story. After I thought I had securely popped the plug back on and went to flip my container right-side up, it fell off and all my foundation spilled all over my bathroom counter! I was able to save most of it though. To get the plug securely back on correctly, I had to use a small hammer and tap the edges of the plug back on until I heard 2 loud clicks. The plug should be slightly inside the outter ring of the container, not level with the outter ring, but all edges of the plug should be level to know that you've securely put it back on correctly. It was a nightmare, but I got it back on!

The brush comes off for cleaning/filling your brush so when you activate the powder to fill the brush, be sure to secure the brush so that it doesn't come off. The dial at the bottom of the brush allows you to close it up or buff on your look.

I think that if you look at the bottom of the jar, there is a little dial. You can try using the edge of a dime to twist it open. I hope this is what you meant! :-)

Please make an option for use with your eye shadow. I don't like the mess of opening ( and spilling ) the pots of eye shadow. The brushes are great for the face products. Please modify for eyes!!

If you mean a sifter for the concealer and eye shadow, I totally agree. There's sifters for the loose blush powder, veil, warmth all over face color and foundation. But for eye shadow and concealer, which are my favorites as well, there's no sifter. The jar tops are great and I never mess up anything, but still...it would be fantastic if I can seal it off like I can with everything else. Ask a BE rep if they plan on making a sifter for eye colors and concealers!

It's empty and you fill it with your foundation powder. Reading the other reviews I don't think I'll get it. I'm better off swirling tapping and buffing my heart out. Sephora has $3 sifters where you can put your makeup in and carry it with you instead of taking the source with you. It would be a lot better I think. I just ordered 6 sifters yesterday. Can't wait to get them. I have a home makeup bag, purse bag, swim bag and also a bag I would take for hotel visits. I would rather lose or misplace a $3 item verus my $26-$28 source jar lol.

It comes empty so you can put what you want in it. It comes with a little spoon to help move the powder. Using a paper funnel works well too and is a little faster.

It comes empty with a little scoop. You just put your make up in a little jar that screws into the base of it.

No, there's no product in the brush. When you get it, it will be empty. Then you can put whatever you want to in it. Even mineral veil.

Mine came full, but beware... it just doesn't work. More frustration than it's worth.
