Refillable Buffing Brush
plastic eventually cracks and brush breaks
I liked the brush a lot and did not have issues getting powder out, you just need to give it a thorough shake when the brush is in the "open" position. However, after using it for a few months, the bottom base cracked and I can no longer turn the dial to retract the brush... Waste of money
Don't pay for aggravation
The idea of this product is great, but the implementation is nonexistent. I had no luck at all getting this product to work. So I went to the reviews hoping someone else had the same experience and could explain how they finally got it to work. It turned out that almost everyone had the same experience and never found a way to make it work. So my conclusion is that I wasted my money and Bare Escentuals should discontinue selling the item. Very disappointing.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
I purchased two of these thinking it would be a great convenience for travel. I really wanted this product to work. I tried to make this function in so many ways but the product never dispenses onto the brush. These should all be recalled for a credit. Right now this is an over-sized and needless brush in my makeup drawer.
Not what I hoped for
After reading the other reviews it seems as though we all agree that it is a great idea, but the mechanics of it are not yet working. Most of the time I was not even sure if it was working or not and I think that I probably wasted more than I used by trying to open it and accidentally spilling it or continuing to shake it not knowing if any came out or not. This is a great idea, though, like I said before. It just didn't work for me.
yep. in the trash.
After reading the reviews (trying to find if there is a decent way to clean this brush on my last attempt to recover), I finally got the courage to toss it in the garbage. Like most of the reviews you read here:
-product does not come out
I have been using it as a powder transport and using a separate brush. I have never gotten this thing to work. I have no idea how to clean it (because of the compartment/ potential for clogging), and have never used it as it was meant to be used- as a portable powder and brush. I have been dragging it around my bag for two years and am OVER IT.
I love BE, but do not buy this. The brand and the customers are better than this.
The worst of bare minerals
I love your products. I cannot believe this one is still being sold. I bought this several years ago at your highest end retailer. From day one I could not get it to dispense. Still cannot get it to dispense. Remove it from your line. You are too good for it.
I had purchased this when it first came out, thinking the concept was an awesome idea. It was very difficult to fill and once filled I could hardly get any product out. What a waste of money. I wish I would have thought of returning it back then. Instead it sat in my makeup drawer for a couple of years and finally went on the trash. Very disappointing.
Do Not Buy
I wish I had read these reviews before I bought this brush in a boutique. It does not work at all. Getting the foundation from the jar is ridiculous and then it absolutely refuses to come out of the brush. Then when it finally does come out of the brush it's a landslide of powder. It now sits quietly in my make up drawer taunting me.
very disappointed in product
The product idea is a fantastic one, to be able to have a "all in one" at your finger tips when you need to freshen/touch up your face. Even after replacing a defective Refillable Buffing Brush, I still couldn't get the foundation out. The holder will get clogged and it seems the only way I can use the product is to; unscrew the bottom, VERY CAREFULLY shake a little of the powder into the brush cap and then use the brush to apply.
After reading the other reviews, it appears that Bare Minerals customers like the product idea but wish it would work. I hope the mechanics can be resolved.
Doesn't live up to claims
I like BM matte foundation, however hate that my bathroom, makeup bag, and purse are covered in it. I saw this product and thought it would be a great solution to the messy powder. Unfortunately, it doesn't deliver.
First problem is that BM foundation containers are not designed to open so that the powder may be scooped out and into the powder chamber of the refillable brush. I have found that the easiest way to get the powder out of the original container is to shake it over a piece of paper, then roll the paper into a cone shape and shake the powder into the empty chamber end of the refillable brush. It gets the job done, but is messy and time consuming.
Second problem is that there is no way to increase the amount of product deposited. There are arrows at the bottom of the brush indicating that more or less powder will come out of the brush depending on which way you turn it. THIS DOESN'T WORK. No matter which way I turn the brush, very very very little product ever comes out.
Overall, a huge disappointment. I wish BM would fix the design and allow those who wasted money on this piece of junk to exchange it.
