  • DOE-EYED

  • THE TECHNIQUE: Color is concentrated in the full crease and center of lash lines to create a rounded shape.

  • THE EFFECT: Bigger, rounder, wide-open eyes that pop.

  • THE APPLICATION: Apply eyeshadow evenly over eyelids and along the full crease line. Intensify color with a fuller application at the center of upper and lower lash lines. Brush mascara through lashes, adding extra layers to the center of upper and lower lashes.

  • THE BUZZ: Alluring, chic, flattering

  • THE INSIDE SCOOP: The Doe-Eyed technique is so versatile. Apply softly with neutral shades for a natural daytime look, or intensify with deeper shades and heavier application for night.

    • STEP 1: Dust MUSE EYESHADOW over eyelids from lash line to brow bone with the round end of the DOUBLE-ENDED PRECISION EYE BRUSH.
    • STEP 2: Sweep PASSION EYESHADOW into the full crease line with the pointed end of the DOUBLE-ENDED PRECISION EYE BRUSH.
    • STEP 3: Line upper and lower lash lines with PASSION EYESHADOW using the pointed end of the DOUBLE-ENDED PRECISION EYE BRUSH. Concentrate color more intensely at the center of upper and lower lash lines to make eyes appear rounder.

    • Pro Tip: Begin application with Prime Time Brightening Pearl Eyelid Primer for added luminosity.
    • EXTENDED CREASE

    • THE TECHNIQUE: Color is blended out past the original crease line towards the hairline to create an elongated shape.

    • THE EFFECT: Contoured, elongated, almond-shaped eyes with drama.

    • THE APPLICATION: Apply eyeshadow along crease and pull color past the original crease line. Blend color up and back at an angle towards the hairline.

    • THE BUZZ: Fashion-forward, dramatic, modern '70s glam

    • THE INSIDE SCOOP: Extended Crease looks incredible with neutrals or with bright colors. Soften the look by blending color only slightly past the crease line; dial up the intensity by pulling color farther out towards the temples.

      • STEP 2: Apply CLIMAX EYESHADOW into outer crease line with the tip of a SOFT TAPERED EYESHADOW BRUSH, extending color outwards towards the hairline. Blend well. Layer for added intensity.
      • STEP 3: Line upper lash line and outer lower lash line with CLIMAX EYESHADOW using a firmANGLED EYELINER BRUSH. Blend outwards to diffuse color.

      • Pro Tip: Dust True Gold Eyecolor onto inner corners of eyes and along inner lower lash line for an eye-catching golden highlight.
      • COLOR BLOCKING

      • THE TECHNIQUE: Color is placed adjacent to a contrasting color and is not blended; this creates isolated blocks of color that make an impact.

      • THE EFFECT: Attention-getting pops of color.

      • THE APPLICATION: Color Blocking can be achieved in several ways. Press eyeshadow onto inner half of upper lid, then press contrasting shade onto outer half of upper lid. Do not blend; allow each shade to stand on its own. For a different look, press eyeshadow over entire eyelid, then apply a contrasting shade along lower lash line.

      • THE BUZZ: Playful, creative, on-trend

      • THE INSIDE SCOOP: Color Blocking works best with high-contrast shades or bright pops of color. Experiment, mix and match with color placement and shades...the options are endless.

    Q & A
    READY Eyeshadow 2.0 - null 3.9 5 12 12
Disappointed I have used the loose eyeshadow and like it both for it's color and it's staying ability (it can be a bit messy when spilled). Recently, I purchased the Ready Eyeshadow duo in The Showstopper. Not only do I have to use what seems to be more than normal to have the color show up, but, by end of day I look somewhat faded. I do use primer underneath and have never had this problem before so I can only conclude it is the shadow. Very disappointed that I have spent this money and now have to go in search of another shadow to purchase. 04/30/2013
I love the READY eyeshadow line!! I love thes eyeshadows. They are easy to apply (less messy than the loose powders) and they last all day and stay smooth! They don't crease or slide. The big plus though, I was amazed. My daughter is a synchronized swimmer. At a recent meet, we forgot to pack her make-up bag (she is 11 so I don't invest in great make-up for her yet#, so I used my own eyeshadow. I applied a very small bit of primer to help hold the shadow and then heavily applied the blue shadow early that morning. After four routines wearing goggles and then two routines without #therefore there was a lot of eye rubbing), the eyeshadow was just as fresh and vibrant as when I applied it that morning! It didn't even smudge or wear off at all! I was amazed! 04/03/2013
Why Mess With A Good Thing? After all the hype and then seeing such pretty colors, I had to purchase and try out the Ready eye shadows. The color palette I went with was the 15 Minute, which was actually quite pretty, but I had a terrible reaction where my eyelids turned red, burned, and swelled up. This reaction started happening about half-way through the day...at work! Needless to say, it wasn't fun. After returning it to the BE store, I exchanged it for the original powder eye shadow formula. No problems! My only wish on THAT front would be that they come up with a different container so it doesn't spill all over when traveling. 03/06/2013
Nice colors but doesn't last long I tried the Inspiration shade along with one of the shadow primers. The shadow colors look amazing when I first apply it, but unfortunately the color doesn't last long. Even when I use a primer, the color smudges and fades and I find myself having to touch up throughout the day. I've only been using Bare Minerals for a few months and I love their foundations, however I don't know if I'll use this shadow again. 02/01/2013
LOVE this easy to use palette! Use an all over eyelid primer first, and then when you use these eyeshadow palettes the shadow will stay on all day and look wonderful from morning to night, without any touch ups! I LOVE these pressed eyeshadows so much, they are quick and easy and no fallout all over my face like I get with the loose eyeshadows. And feel so silky and smooth on my eyes! I have "The Epiphany" and I am getting "The Vision" I am excited :) 01/25/2013
For what it's worth If you smile or laugh a lot beware of this shadow. It streaks terribly. Take a look in the mirror and you'll see streaks of color like rain washed over your lids. It will require touch ups all day long. I love most of the products but these are horrible. 01/16/2013
I will never use anything else. I have fallen in love with these eyeshadows. When I read they were making solid eye shadows I was not sure if I was going to like them. At first I felt they wer no different than the ones you get at a drug store. One day I bought one (pardiese foud) and I worn it for one day. The next day I worn my druge store eyeshadow. I could tell a big difference. These are different from the ones at the drug store, they are better. They seem to give you a nice lit from within glow, that drug store eyeshadow simply cannot do. After that day I got rid of all my drug store eyeshadow and now I use only BE ready eyeshadow. My only compliant is that I wish they had better tips and demos , the once now just don't work . They need more video demos for the eyeshadows that helps. 12/26/2012
AMAZING! I love this eye shadow set! I use the colors individually and together and have gotten so many compliments from both friends and complete strangers. I also pair the shadow with my eye primer and it literally lasts ALL DAY long without smudging or getting messy in the crease of my eyelid. This is such an awesome eye color duo! 12/03/2012
My Favorite Duo I bought The Last Call. It's great for day and even better for night. It comes with a small diagram of how to wear it during the day as well as night. I use the dark blue as a eyeliner as well. I'm really happy with it. 12/01/2012
Perfect I purchased this in "Nick of Time", it looks like a basic cream paired with brown on the website but it's a pretty pinkish cream with a mauve. The color saturation is amazing and it is very long lasting. 11/28/2012

I can't tell by looking, are their any matte eyeshadows in these duos that aren't matched with a shimmer or satin finish. When you reach a certain age as I have, shimmer shadows are not as appropriate.

If you read any of Leslie's posts or interviews, she believes that a bit of shimmer is good on women of all ages. The luminosity helps diffuse any fine lines or wrinkles. My mother uses all these palettes & traditional slimmers, and she became a believer that shimmer was not dependent on being under a certain age.

Try "The Epiphany" it is very neutral, but can be layered for added depth in the evening. Nice shimmer/matte combination.

I know purple is THE BEST for complimenting hazel eyes. I have a light skintone AND brown/green hazel eyes. I have "The Dream Sequence" and "The After Party". They both are great. Each quad (4.0) comes with a small piece of paper that shows you how to get night and day looks. "The Dream Sequence" are in purple shades and "The After Party" is for a smokey eye look. I'm happy with both quads.

Visit your local Bare Escentuals Boutique or a place that sells Bare Minerals products and see if they're able to test out some colors on your eyes or on the top of your hand or against your forearm so that you can see how it looks on your skin. I would rather try it on the eyes though so you can really see what stands out. I went to a store locally and found out that I'm a Warm Deep in READY foundation and since August I thought Golden Dark was my shade, but it was coming up a little too light. I'm Golden Dark in the original and matte foundation. The woman was really helpful making sure I was matched well. Looking online you can't tell so having some help in person can make a difference.
