Purely Nourishing Moisturizer: Combination Skin 4 5 142 142
Product Great, Packaging could use work I love using this moisturizer, however I have issues with the pump no longer working while there is still product in the bottle. I tried turning the bottle upside down, even putting a little water in the bottle and shaking things around hoping not to waste what was left. I don't mind paying a little more to have a good quality moisturizer, however I also want to be able to efficiently use the product that I paid for. 07/14/2014
Liking my Combination Skin again! I received a small sample of this along with the Purifying Cleanser, and have made a note to pick up more ...before my little sample runs out! The moisturizer is lovely to use in morning or evening as a step right after cleansing -- it is light, comes out in a small amount, and that's all it takes. I got the formula for combination skin, because products can seem to be geared toward either oily or dry complexions -- this works so well on ALL areas of my face, it never lets me down. Thank you for making me a Fab woman who can try out the new products even Before I go shopping! I will definitely be looking for this to come back into stock :) 05/29/2014
Great if you have a few oily patches I love this. I don't break out the way I use too. I have a oily forehead and now it feels so much better. Thanks so much for putting this out. At 34 years old I feel normal again!!! 05/13/2014
Not The Best Product Out There I have used many different products for my sensitive combo skin. I use BE products for my makeup so I thought I would try this moisturizer as well as some other skincare products. This moisturizer is very disappointing. I found I could not use it twice a day every day. It started to irritate my skin, making it turn red and hurt. I would have to stop using it for a few days and not use another moisturizer, or use something completely different. I love some of the other products that I use. The Cell Renwal, Moisture Defense Creme for the eyes, and the Wrinkle Corrector are fabulous products!! This one, however, I will not me using anymore. 02/25/2014
Overwhelming smell I received a sample of this and found the product to be disappointing-- primarily because of the overwhelming smell. Yuck! The scent is strong and doesn't go away. It lingers and actually gave me a headache. Wasn't a fan of the consistency either as I found it a bit greasy and thick for something I'd want to use on my face. I've been struggling to find a lightweight facial moisturizer with natural ingredients that doesn't have a weird smell or fragrance to it. Guess my search will continue as this is one of the few BE products I can't recommend. 01/31/2014
Horrible Rash :( I am so horribly sad about this product. I have used BE make-up for YEARS and since I was looking for a better face wash system I thought BE products would be the best place to look. I used the cleanser, moisturizer and night serum for a full week and really loved using it! Until the sixth night I started noticing the skin around my eyes and neck felt slightly tender. I woke up the next morning the find my face covered with a red, bumpy, itchy, rash. I couldn't believe that is was my face wash and thought maybe my detergent because I had just washed me sheets, so I used the product that morning. The rash got worse! This is the only product I have used on my face and my neck, and I am noticing that the rash stopped right at the spot where I put the moisturizer. It has been a full day without use and the rash hasn't gone away and still itches. I have been taking benadryl which is helping. I wouldn't say I have extremely sensitive skin, because I have never had a product effect me this bad, but I don't have the toughest skin either. All I have to say it test the product first! It took a couple of days for me to be effected by it! I am SO thankful that I tried this our WAY before my wedding day in March I would have been a wreck if I had to walk down the aisle like this! 01/27/2014
Combination skin moisturizer My face is oily in a few spots, normal in others. I've had very little success with other products, often needing to use 2 products to do what Bare Escentuals has managed to accomplish in one. I highly recommend this to anyone - even if your skin is normal, oily or dry - as it works really well in all the areas of my face. No residual slickness, or greasy feeling afterwards. Just a light coating is needed. This jar lasts me many months. Well worth the money! 01/23/2014
the only one i use I have very oily skin with occasional break outs. I purchased this with my kit in the summer and used it only couple of times because was afraid it will make me even oilier. I always neglect to moisturize because of my oily skin, and so far could not find any products which were light enough. Right now in cold weather with drying radiators heat at work and home this works wonderfully. I do not put it on my face at night, since I use some other skin care products at nigh, but I do use it in the morning on clean face , letting it dry and follow with oil control primer and matte formula foundation ( both from BM). it's very light and absorbs quickly. I would recommend it for some one with oily skin for sure. 12/03/2013
So far, I love it. But I have one concern. I got a generous sample tube of this with an order and I really like it. It is the perfect texture (not too heavy). And it's perfect under the foundation. Just be sure to wait till it has completely absorbed before applying foundation. But I'm a little hesitant to order the full size bottle as several reviewers have complained about the amount left in the bottle when the pump stops working. One said there was almost a third of the bottle that she couldn't access. If the pump can be taken off so that you can at least shake the last out of it I might consider it. I do want to say one thing about Bare Minerals customer service. OUTSTANDING! 11/19/2013
Perfect I got this moisturizer as a sample with a BareMinerals gift set that I bought. I finally decided to try it because I always have a horrible time finding the perfect moisturizer for my combination skin! When I put this moisturizer on my face it felt amazing! Never did it feel heavy or greasy. This is the perfect light moisturizer to go under my BareMinerals primer and foundation!! 10/19/2013

I purchased this product this winter because one day while putting on my makeup before work I noticed how dry and tired my skin looked. I have only been using this moisturizer for a week and I absolutely love it! I can certainly see a difference in my skin. However, I'm trying to figure out how to apply it in relation to the bare minerals foundation. Before I was using the prime-time primer, then applying my makeup. Now I notice that if I put on the moisturizer, it needs time to soak in before putting on the makeup. What is the best method for applying moisturizer - primer - makeup, and do I need to use the prime-time primer with it? If I don't, when do I decide which to use and not to use?

I apply a thin coat of the moisturizer after cleansing. I follow this with a thin coat of Prime Time. Using a thin coat is plenty for me and they soak in while I grab the next bottle. Next I use concealer and then my foundation whether mineral or the new BareSkin.

My 14 yr old daughter has always had dry, tight skin, and if it gets too dry she has trouble with eczema. Recently she began to break out with acne on her face. The drugstore products that are targeted to treat acne are too dry and irritating to her skin and then she has to apply, and reapply, moisturizer just to make her skin feel comfortable which probably causes more acne! She uses the Bare Minerals foundation, but we are wondering if there is a skin care system that would work for her and possibly a different form of foundation?

I have incredibly dry skin as well, and am also very sensitive to skin care products. I also put prescription creams on my face from the dermatologist that had the side effect of making your skin even dryer. This moisturizer is the solution to the problem! I just recently made the investment and will never try anything else. It's incredible and does not irritate your skin at all. There is even a smaller starter kit that comes with a cleanser and night serum as well so she can give it a shot, that's how I got hooked!

Yes! The Purely Nourishing Dry Skin Moisturizer would work. I got it as a sample and I used it on a dry rough patch around my nose when I had a cold. It worked perfectly! It also left a coating there throughout most the day so my skin was protected even though I was sick and using a lot of tissues.

I think it varies on the amount of product you use and if you use it once a day or two times. I use mine twice a day and get close to 3 months from a bottle.

Hold it up in front of the sun, a bright shining sun.
Here is what I do. I hold the tube with the lid facing up. I tap it against my hand to make all the air rise while the product falls down toward the end of the tube. Then I squeeze all the air out. Every time I use the product I squeeze all the air out. I know when Im almost out because I can see it.

When I first tried this I absolutely loved it. It felt "dry" going on and absorbed beautifully, and my pores were noticeably smaller, but after I finished the smaller size and invested in the full size bottle I had to admit that it was, in fact, causing me to break out. I am 45 and yes, can still break out. As soon as I stopped using it my skin began to clear. I really liked how it felt but it did not moisturize at all in my opinion, although it felt nice; my skin was still "thirsty", not hydrated, and it definitely caused me to break out. So did the eye cream. I spent a lot of money too. So disappointed. I am still using the cleanser, which I love because it really gets the makeup off and doesn't seem to give me problems.

I have combination skin and have not had a problem with this moisturizer. I don't recall if it is labeled as non-comedogenic or not. I also use the Deep Cleansing Foaming cleanser, and that helps keep the breakouts at bay. Blemish Therapy is also great for spot treating.

Hi - I have a background in cosmetic chemistry ...there are so many 'key' ingredients here ...where to start. To answer your question I'd have to list nearly the entire ingredient list ... this is a lightweight - great daytime formula, or a good day/night for normal to combo skin ...there are no peptides - which are some of the heavyweights in anti aging but you can look for those in a serum. There are a host of botanicals, extract and such that target and balance and sooth

Water won't hydrate you skin... just as licking your chapped lips won't help. You need moisturizers. I would recommend any of the BE products, and they do have specific eye cream.

What you are doing buy splashing water on your face can be explained with osmosis and diffusion. You are pulling essentual oils, salts and other nutrients out of your skin thought the sell wall, which then results in over drying.

If you can't find a cream or moisturizer that works I would suggest givng the skin around your eyes a break. Try not using any cleansers and hold off on the water splashing and let your skin rebalance with it's own oils.

I hope this helps.

Actually yes BE is non comedogenic. I was curious what that was so I looked it up on Google and found a list of makeup brands that are that way. Sorry but I can't post the link, I've already tried.

I understand where you're coming from because my dermatologist wants me to use non comedogenic products as well. The thing is that just because it's labeled "non comedogenic" doesn't mean it'll do you any good. There are so many products that label themselves as "non comedogenic" and still cause my skin to break out.

Have you try calling customer service? I'm sure they can help you out.

How would you compare the rare minerals moisturizer to the new moisturizer?

A:
I 100% prefer old rare minerals moisturizer. With the new product, there is no formula for Oily/Sensitive Skin, its smells really awful (not trying to be mean). The only good things about it, is that its Light-weight, non-greesy. But something I need to rub on my face everyday, the smell needs huge improvements, I can't even use the rest of my bottle, I can't stand it that much. Please improve that Smell, and help oily skin girls out :). Thanks

I loved the old version of this product. It moisturized my skin perfectly and having oily skin it is hard to find one that doesn't make my skin worst but after using the newer version that is what happened. I have acne prone skin but this new moisturizer caused me to have bumps on my face and once I stopped it dramatically decreased.

I don't see a difference between the two products. According to the ladies at the BE boutique, the formula is the same but the packaging changed. If you don't like the new moisturizer or see a difference between it and the Rareminerals, you can still get the Rareminerals line at BE outlets and they do phone orders.

A:
I haven't used the SPF version, but there are 2 of this product available under "Skincare" with SPF. They are $2 more but may be worth if you really need the sunscreen. Definitely read all the reviews because there are quite a few negatives on this product (as well as some 5 stars). I would email or call and ask about the difference between the ingredients of the 2. If you have a boutique close by, that would be a good way to try it without buying it and then being unhappy. There is also a version of the Normal to Dry that also has SPF.
Hope this helps. I'm using a sample of the regular right now and I am 62, fairly light skinned and sunscreen is a must if I'm going out for any length of time but don't have time or want to wear foundation. I intend to request a sample. If they have samples of this version, ask them to send you one mentioning the negative reviews. Some people are very sensitive to sunscreens. Good luck!
