Purely Nourishing Moisturizer: Combination Skin 4 5 123 123
Good--for combination skin I got a tiny tube with my starter kit. I sorta have "combination skin", but most of my face tends to be dry. When I used this version of moisturizer, I find my face a bit on the drier side afterwards--not so dry as to be uncomfortable, but not "dewy", as I usually feel with moisturizers. So I can see others with dry skin having issues with it--if that is the case, I think one should switch to the regular moisturizer. As for the odor, it does have a distinct smell, unusual and unmistakable, and it lingers just a little. But I actually like the smell. It smells like pine cones to me. 05/04/2013
Bummed I started using this lotion and cleanser, but I broke out bad! I was hoping it was just the change between it, but everytime I cleansed and moisturized a couple of pimples would pop out. :( 04/30/2013
Disappointing! I was so disappointed by this moisturizer! I have combination skin - slightly oily on my forehead, nose, and chin, and dry on my cheeks.. I thought this would be the perfect solution and face moisturizer. I started breaking out terrible right after I started using this product. I hoped that it was just an adjustment period for my skin, getting used to a new product, so I decided to tough it out and keep using it. After two months of using it and my face being constantly broke out, I gave up and knew this wasn't for me. I was so disappointed too, because I LOVE all the other BE products that I have tried. 03/30/2013
Cannot Live Without!!! I tell everyone I know, if I were stuck on a desert island, this is the one thing I could not live without. I put it on twice a day (once in the morning after I cleanse before my make up and once after I cleanse before bedtime). It's incredible!!! I feel and see a difference in my skin instantly. I feel naked if I don't have it on, and it keeps my skin hydrated (which is greatly appreciated since we've had an extended winter this year). It doesn't break out my skin and I feel that it's safe to use when I do have a blemish or two pop up (mind you I am also using the blemish therapy) but I swear I will use this product until the day I die. 03/29/2013
Amazing product I have oily skin and have never been able to use a moisturizer because they all made my skin more oily. I tried this a few months ago and I was amazed. I knew I needed moisturizer because I'm in my mid 40's and my skin needs moisture. This product blends and absorbs right away. There is no greasy or oily feeling after. No break outs and my make up stays perfect. I finally have a moisturizer I can use and my skin looks so much healthier!! 03/29/2013
Great moisturizer for combination skin This moisturizer is really fabulous! I love that it doesn't leave a shiney, greasy look or feel on your skin. Especially since I use BE mineral foundation-- that would cling to any oily residue left on skin. 03/09/2013
Decent moisturizer for oily skin I am very picky about what skin care products I put on my face. My face can get quite oily (saturating two oil absorbing sheets by noon usually!), so I need a moisturizer to help control oil while not letting my face get too dry. I give this a 4 out of 5 only because I think there are better oil controlling moisturizers out there. What I do love about this one is that one pump from this bottle is enough for one application. I also love that there are antioxidants in the formula. At age 34, I am working hard to combat free radicals and stay looking as young and beautiful as I can for as long as I can! 03/04/2013
Works Wonders But Packaging Stinks I LOVE this moisturizer. It keeps my skin supple and soft. It dries quickly, is non-greasy, and doesn't break out my uber-sensitive skin. I use the combination skin formula during the day and the normal skin formula at night. I only gave it 4 stars because the packaging is AWFUL. It's impossible to get the final 1/5 of the lotion out of the bottle - that's a lot of wasted product that you're paying for (and honestly, the quantity is not much for the dollar to begin with). I wish they would package this moisturizer in a tube instead. 02/12/2013
Great summer moisterizer I purchased this moisturizer over the summer and fell in love with it. It did not make my face break out like other creams have in the past. My skin was not greasy feeling, nor did it look shiny as the day wore on. The only issue I have with this product is that now that it's winter I find that my skin is too dry. I am going to switch to the normal to dry moisturizer for the winter months. 02/11/2013
Love love love this! I work for another cosmetic company not mentioning the name, but I love bare minerals moisturizer better than anything! It's lightweight, non greasy, non sticky, and has the best lemon smell! It also has SPF to protect your skin and everyone needs SPF even in the winter time and even when you stay in doors all day. Certain lights, even if its not sun can still damage your skin so wear SPF! 12/10/2012

My 14 yr old daughter has always had dry, tight skin, and if it gets too dry she has trouble with eczema. Recently she began to break out with acne on her face. The drugstore products that are targeted to treat acne are too dry and irritating to her skin and then she has to apply, and reapply, moisturizer just to make her skin feel comfortable which probably causes more acne! She uses the Bare Minerals foundation, but we are wondering if there is a skin care system that would work for her and possibly a different form of foundation?

I think it varies on the amount of product you use and if you use it once a day or two times. I use mine twice a day and get close to 3 months from a bottle.

Hold it up in front of the sun, a bright shining sun.
Here is what I do. I hold the tube with the lid facing up. I tap it against my hand to make all the air rise while the product falls down toward the end of the tube. Then I squeeze all the air out. Every time I use the product I squeeze all the air out. I know when Im almost out because I can see it.

i have those types of spots on my face also. but i have noticed that this moisturizer feels as light as air and has started to even out those spots on my face. i don't believe that it would aggravate your areas.

I have noticed improvements in my skin since using this product. In fact, my oily areas are almost non-existant. It does not make me break out at all.

When I first tried this I absolutely loved it. It felt "dry" going on and absorbed beautifully, and my pores were noticeably smaller, but after I finished the smaller size and invested in the full size bottle I had to admit that it was, in fact, causing me to break out. I am 45 and yes, can still break out. As soon as I stopped using it my skin began to clear. I really liked how it felt but it did not moisturize at all in my opinion, although it felt nice; my skin was still "thirsty", not hydrated, and it definitely caused me to break out. So did the eye cream. I spent a lot of money too. So disappointed. I am still using the cleanser, which I love because it really gets the makeup off and doesn't seem to give me problems.

I have combination skin and have not had a problem with this moisturizer. I don't recall if it is labeled as non-comedogenic or not. I also use the Deep Cleansing Foaming cleanser, and that helps keep the breakouts at bay. Blemish Therapy is also great for spot treating.

Water won't hydrate you skin... just as licking your chapped lips won't help. You need moisturizers. I would recommend any of the BE products, and they do have specific eye cream.

What you are doing buy splashing water on your face can be explained with osmosis and diffusion. You are pulling essentual oils, salts and other nutrients out of your skin thought the sell wall, which then results in over drying.

If you can't find a cream or moisturizer that works I would suggest givng the skin around your eyes a break. Try not using any cleansers and hold off on the water splashing and let your skin rebalance with it's own oils.

I hope this helps.

Actually yes BE is non comedogenic. I was curious what that was so I looked it up on Google and found a list of makeup brands that are that way. Sorry but I can't post the link, I've already tried.

I understand where you're coming from because my dermatologist wants me to use non comedogenic products as well. The thing is that just because it's labeled "non comedogenic" doesn't mean it'll do you any good. There are so many products that label themselves as "non comedogenic" and still cause my skin to break out.

Have you try calling customer service? I'm sure they can help you out.

How would you compare the rare minerals moisturizer to the new moisturizer?

A:
I 100% prefer old rare minerals moisturizer. With the new product, there is no formula for Oily/Sensitive Skin, its smells really awful (not trying to be mean). The only good things about it, is that its Light-weight, non-greesy. But something I need to rub on my face everyday, the smell needs huge improvements, I can't even use the rest of my bottle, I can't stand it that much. Please improve that Smell, and help oily skin girls out :). Thanks

I loved the old version of this product. It moisturized my skin perfectly and having oily skin it is hard to find one that doesn't make my skin worst but after using the newer version that is what happened. I have acne prone skin but this new moisturizer caused me to have bumps on my face and once I stopped it dramatically decreased.

I don't see a difference between the two products. According to the ladies at the BE boutique, the formula is the same but the packaging changed. If you don't like the new moisturizer or see a difference between it and the Rareminerals, you can still get the Rareminerals line at BE outlets and they do phone orders.

Since the bottle doesn't have anything indicating SPF on it, i would assume it does not. But, if you wear the BareMinerals foundation (original or matte), it contains SPF 15 so if you layer that on top, you have your SPF! ;)
