Prime Time Foundation Primer
Before the make up
One of my favorite products. Being a "woman of a certain age" I really appreciate how it prepares my skin for the next part of my regimen.
Love this but...
This product does make your skin feel velvety soft, and it makes the foundation look smoother. The only negative thing I have to say about this is that it does not always pump and I have to open the bottle and take some of the product off the pump wand, sometimes I even have to run the pump around the inside of the container to get enough to apply. Even after I have shaken the bottle down the pumper will work - for a while. This is very frustrating! Also because I like this product I purchased it again, and the same thing happened. Makes me wonder how much product (and $) I am wasting. There's got to be a better solution! It's a great product so please fix it!
I bought this primer almost a year ago and I could never use it because it was so thick and hard to apply. I couldn't wear it under foundation because it made my foundations look cakey. I tried it under multiple foundation brands and I just couldn't make it work. I recently found this primer in my makeup "doom" box and decided to give it a try again (because hey, maybe my skin has changed) but unfortunately, same thing. Too thick. I also have tried the Neutralizing primer that I received in a bare minerals mystery box but I couldn't make that work either. It's just too thick and has a weird smell.
Did you change your formula?
I used to love this primer, but when I purchased a new one this past April, it made my skin look scaly after applying my Original foundation. Did this formula change?
love this product
I absolutely love this product and how it makes my skin feel. It creates a silky, smooth surface and helps my bare minerals make up go on more evenly and last all day.
I've been using this since it first came out. At the time, it was the first such product I'd ever heard of: Face primers were very new then. It gives skin an extremely smooth, silky finish that allows any kind of foundation to apply evenly and last longer. It also helps act as a barrier and prevents makeup oxidizing. In the days before eyeshadow primers, I would put this lightly on my eyelids and dust with Mineral Veil to keep eyeshadow on my oily lids. Two small pumps of this will cover my entire face and neck, so a bottle lasts a long time. It doesn't cause any skin irritation or breakouts.
The only downside is you can feel it on your face, and it feels kind of heavy. All dimethicone/silicon primers have this issue, so it's not a reflection on the quality. The quality is excellent.
Velvet love <3
Nothing feels like the bare minerals original primer. It instantly makes your skin feel smooth and velvety, it actually relieves any irritation you may have. It works at toning and evening your skin and really does what it's supposed to, PRIMES your face perfectly. My makeup sits beautiful on my skin after using it and lasts all day!
Velvet in a bottle
I have never used a primer before this one, so I have nothing else to compare it to, but I really like it! It makes my face velvety soft and prepared for my makeup. I might try other primers in the future so I have something to compare it to, but I don't think I should since I like this one so much!
Love this Stuff!!
This is the best product and I love how it makes my skin feel. It is not heavy and does not make my skin feel caked up. I love the way it helps my make up look. Totally worth buying!
Prime Time Primer
This is a GREAT product - however, the pump bottle is terrible. The product separates, so it has to be shaken, which is fine. However, what remains in the little pump tube is the 'oily'-feeling clear liquid - none of the 'filler' product that smooths your skin and helps the powder to cling to your skin. If you continue to dispense like this, pretty soon you're going to end up with only the thick stuff in the bottom, which then of course clogs the tiny tube. My fix is this: when I receive it, shake it well, then I dispense it into 2 of the 'club-size' tubes. I have a tiny spatula-type tool that came with a little travel kit that I use to scrape out all the product. This does the trick, but it is a nuisance.
