Prime Time Foundation Primer 4.4 5 38 38
A must-have! I always use the Prime Time Foundation primer before using my original foundation. It smooths my skin, preps it and gives it a smooth surface to apply foundation. This product makes a huge difference and I never go without it! 04/28/2013
SMOOTH I have tried all the primers out there and I have gone back to the best one- Prime Time! I too am an older woman and need coverage but not in the lines and wrinkles!!! This is the only product that smoothes your surface -without being sticky- for flawless application of whatever foundation you use. Will never be without it! 04/25/2013
Great product! My daughter in law introduced me to Prime Time Primer and I do love it. Your face feels wonderfully smooth after applying. When used in conjunction with other Bare Essentials powder and blush it gives a great look. My only disappointment has been the pump on the Primer quit working after less than 30 days. Otherwise, I would highly recommend the product. 04/09/2013
Great addition for older skin!! I have used Bare Minerals for quite some time, but noticed as my skin matured that it wasn't settling quite the same way on my skin. One of the consultants in the BE store suggested trying this primer, and I am deeply thankful to her. I actually tried two steps: I increased my moisturizer a bit this winter (my skin is drier this year than ever before) and added the primer before putting on my makeup. What a difference it has made!! This stuff makes my skin feel like silk. My BE makeup goes on very smoothly and looks fresh all day. I get a lot of compliments that I have such nice skin, especially for my age, and I am glad to have a makeup that keeps my complexion looking light, fresh and luminous. Definitely try the Foundation Primer; it makes a big difference! 04/08/2013
Senior ladies need this I'm 70 years old & new to primers. Never knew they existed. But I found this to be a must. A moisturizer leaves my skin moist & it grabs the powder. The primer gives a smooth slightly slick finish that the foundation is evenly attracted to. It also helps the foundation swim over wrinkles & creases. In the beginning I used too much. Now I squeeze out a bit slightly larger than a kitchen match's head on one index finger. Then rub my two index fingertips together. Finally touch them on mid forehead, next to my nose, my chin, & on the side of my face in front my ears. Then go back and spread from all the places you touched. I get a even, smooth coat that's perfect for the foundation. I just bought the jumbo container & am pleased at the bargain. 04/01/2013
Overall a Good Primer Lately, I have been trying different brands of primers and moisturizers (Philosophy's Hope in a Jar included#. BE's Prime Time Foundation Primer seems to work the best for my dry and oily skin. The other brands I have tried seem to set into my fine lines and wrinkles. Prime Time evens out my flaws and dry skin. It also helps my makeup stay on longer. If I go a day without putting this on before my makeup, I can tell by the end of the night #my makeup will look like its almost melting off due to my oily skin). When using this product, my makeup stays firm and intact throughout the whole day. Didn't give 5 stars because I want to try other BE products to see if I can find something that works even better for my skin. 03/26/2013
New version is not improved I have used the Foundation Primer for sometime and have loved it until I purchased the new improved version. It appears to be a watery solution as opposed to the smooth texture I was used to. It does not go on well and really doesn't help with making the foundation application smooth. Bring back the old version! Much better product. 03/24/2013
Good for makeup.. bad for skin This product makes my makeup look SO good. Unfortunately I bought this on Wednesday and by Saturday I woke up and saw it made me break out like crazy! I had a feeling it might because of the way it feels...it's quite oily feeling. The last primer I used felt more like a powder after putting it on and that seemed better for my face as far as breaking out goes, but didn't do much for helping my makeup look better. Guess I will need to keep looking for something in between the two. 03/24/2013
Decent primer Not a bad primer. I only give it 4 stars because I think there are other primers out there that give a more amazing flawless foundation look than this primer. 03/05/2013
super smooth skin!! This and bareminerals together is a miricle on my skin!! This primer controls some oil and smoothes right over my dry spots! Its super silky feeling and u need the smallest amount ever ! My foundation will last at least twice as long with it!! This does not break me out at all! This product will forever be on my vanity! Must try it!! 02/08/2013

I am liking this product for my face so far. Is it really necessary to buy the separate eye primer also? Isn't it kinda sorta the same thing?

You will most likely be more satisfied using a separate eyelid primer. The skin on you eyelids tend to allow for more oil buildup, and when we are constantly opening and closing our eyes, we are increasing the release of those oils. The eyelid primer has a different texture that really cuts down the oil/moisture buildup that the foundation primers do not have. I recommend also putting a tiny amount of eyelid primer under your bottom lashline (before concealers) if you plan to line your bottom lash line. It reduces that raccoon look that occurs over time. Hope this was helpful!

Skin Rev-er Upper is not a makeup primer so it won't work like one. I personally avoid the eye area when I apply this product because it contains both salycilic and glycolic acids - too harsh for the delicate eye area.

You can use any of them. I like the humidifying one because I have very dry skin & the illuminating one for "dress up."

When I first tried bareMinerals, I was told prime time was NOT gluten free. Recently, I was told by CRS that it is. I'd like to know if prime time IS now gluten free and whether this is a change from a previous formula. Can I use prime time I purchased in an introduction kit about 6 months ago? I am gluten intolerant.

I can't say enough good things about bareMinerals for gluten free people. Thank you!

It says 1 oz. in the picture, but I was wondering if this is correct for the regular size primer. I am contemplating whether to get the kit that comes with the mini prime time (.5 oz.), a small mineral veil, and a mini flawless application brush or just the regular size prime time.

The regular size Prime Time is 1 oz. Just a dab of this product goes a long way, so a .5oz Prime Time should last you a while even if you use it daily as a regular part of your Bare Minerals routine. Either way, they are both a great value.

I am new to Bare Minerals and I am trying to learn how to get the most from the products. I have very early signs of aging and would like to slow down the progress and make my skin look as young as possible using the entire line of products! Any advice you can give is helpful, especially the best order in which to use ALL of the products to have younger looking skin.

I'm new too. This is what works for me: moisturizer-primer-foundation-all over color-blush-veil and eye cream-eye primer-shadow-veil when you wear all these products. I have very dry skin, a few shallow wrinkles (despite the fact that I'm 70), and usually wear everything when i wear any makeup. On no makeup days, I use just moisturizer.

Read some of the reviews and you'll see that some folks wear subsets, such as Prime Time Primer without additional eye color or moisturizer and All Over Color.

So far I've round it is easy to experiment, & fool around to try ideas out. If you can get to a BE Botiqur, you can get great advice & a chance to try various looks out.

I am 40 and have very sensitive, combination that tends towards breakouts, skin. I use an eye cream and night moisturizing cream (night creams are heavier) at night. On most days I wash my face, apply a day moisturizer with SPF in it (as a natural redhead, SPF is NOT optional), then I put a very light coat of foundation primer and eye primer (for special occassions I use a bit more foundation primer, but be careful because BE foundation primer can flake off if you use too much ofit and if you get into humid environments it can absorb the humidity and get slimy). Once I have the primer all ready, and it has had a chance to dry and set, I add my BE foundation and blush and mineral veil. Oh, a tip, when you apply the night cream and eye cream, make sure to get the cornersof your eye, where "crows feet" are trying to get started. In my experience, matte colored eye colors work best, I have had issues with pearl shades slipping into small creases and highlighting the creases! I use pearlized shades for parties and such, but not for all day, and put the eye primer above and below the eye and into the corners. Also, just before I apply my eye color I make sure to dust a tiny bit of extra mineral veil just below my eyes to help with sweeping away any"fallout"eye color or if I get a little smear of mascara on my cheek or something. The mineral veil helps a lot with this! I know that any extra dark color below my eye ends up looking like bags, and that is most unhelpful. LOL

Although I'm concerned more with covering acne scars and oiliness as compared with aging skin, I do the following order:
Cleanser, Moisturizer, Eye Cream, Blemish Treatment, Primers, Mineral Veil, Foundation, Concealer, Mineral Veil again, Bronzer/Blush, Eyes, Lips. If I forget something or do a different order, it doesn't last me as long! At night I use cleanser, moisturizer, blemish treatment, and then Night Treatment.

First off, you have to have a skincare routine in place. Otherwise, no matter how good the makeup is...it isn't treating all you want to fix with your skin. I'll share with you my order and you can modify as you see fit or as you are comfortable with.

1. Cleanse - BE Purifying Facial Cleanser
2. Moisturize Face - BE Purely Luminous Cream - Dry Skin ( you can use your own skincare products...I just prefer the BE brand)
3. Moisturize Eyes - BE Firming Eye Cream
Let all that dry and soak into the skin
4. Foundation Primer
5. BE Mineral Foundation - Golden Fair (my color)
6. BE Mineral Veil - Hydrating (dry skin) * sets makeup for all day wear, if need to touch up on foundation, use this to touch up.
7. BE Blush - color of choice
8. BE Eye Primer
9. BE Eye Colors - how many and how much is up to you, and the look you are achieving
10. BE Buxom Lip Polish or BE Lip Gloss - again, you can use your own products here...I just prefer the BE Brand.

That is my order...hope it helps you in your makeup endeavors. Let me know if you have any more questions. I'd be happy to help.

My daughter had a very bad case of chicken pox at the age of 1 which left her scarred with craters. Now she is 16 and old enough to wear make up. Will this product reduce the appearance of her craters so that her make up foundation is smoother?

A:
Based on the description of your daughter's facial condition, I don't think the Prime Time Foundation Primer will help with filling in or smoothing the appearance of craters. The product is more like a thin film that smoothens the entire face. Pardon my forwardness...but are the amount of "craters" dense and cover a large area of her face? Or is it more "spotty"? If it is more spotty, you might want to consider using a concealer for your daughter then, add the mineral powder over for a smooth look.

I fell and cut a deep gash near the end of my eyebrow. The minerals really help to conceal the scare.
