Prime Time Neutralizing Foundation Primer 4.2 5 49 49
Meh. I received a sample of the original primer formula and loved it! I decided to try the neutralizing primer as I have sensitive skin that is prone to redness. This stuff is very yellow for my fair skin-tone, is thicker and doesn't glide on as smooth as the original non-tinted primer. This also made me break out, so I won't be using it anymore. It did tone down the redness, but I would go with the original primer if I decide to purchase again. 04/10/2014
LOVE LOVE LOVE I used bareMinerals for about two weeks prior to purchasing this product. I was using a primer from a different brand but was struggling to get full coverage that lasted all day. I have dry skin and the exfoliation was causing my face to be super red and the foundation simply wasn't covering it all and I found myself applying several layers. Then it was suggested that I buy the neutralizing foundation primer and I swear it changed my life lol! It instantly smoothed and the yellow tones in the primer hid my red skin. It lessened the amount of applications I initially had to put on and I did not have to reapply throughout the day. All primers are NOT created equal...this one does the job and then some! 03/26/2014
prime i dont agree, im a redhead with freckles, i have tried the makeup without the primer....granted i dont have pimples or pimple marks, but i do have rosatia type skin, reddish marks, and this prime time is great, it helps cover up these marks immensely 02/26/2014
Not Great For Ruddy Skin If you have ruddy skin like I do, I don't recommend this product. The primer itself looked like yellow liquid foundation and my skin is now oily. It does reduce some of the redness in your skin but I found after putting it on it was clear that my face still a bit red. I'm not too pleased with that. I wish Bare Minerals came out with a primer that was green tinted because green tinted primer is supposed to eliminate the ruddiness of the skin. 01/26/2014
Not Really Primer This stuff is more like a creamy, yellow moisturizer than a primer. It leaves the skin with an oily residue, even when little is applied. It does remove some red from my skin, but I've found that due to it's oily nature, it fades swiftly revealing patches of redness. My skin is fair and dry/combination, and this still feels like it sits wetly on the top of the skin and does not easily absorb. Again, acts like no other primer I've tried, in that it doesn't really prime the skin at all. 01/25/2014
This is Thicker and Not as Smooth I bought this because i always seem to have redness around my nose and in between my eyebrows. I normally use the original primer but decided to give this try. I use golden tan foundation and tan 2 concealer. It does not create the smooth silky application like the original primer does. Also as far as taking away the redness you would have to put it on rather thick to do so, meaning use more than a pea size for each spot. This really did not work for me and so i will stick with the original. 01/13/2014
Great at first... I have used this for about a month...and I have been in LOVE. However, the other day when I went to use it...the primer has gotten clumpy and separated. I could look past this BUT also seems to not be hiding the redness any longer. I have over 3/4 bottle left that no longer works :( 11/24/2013
where have you been all my life. I can't believe that I have not discovered this primer before now. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I'm age 65 and have been using BE for a long time. I never tried the primer for foundation or for eyes. Now I'm hooked. As a young girl I baked in the sun and therfore have sun damage. This really helps to hide some of those spots on my face. Thanks Leslie for your great products. 11/20/2013
Oily skin? Try this under your foundation. I bought this a few months ago, and I use it before I put on my BE foundation. It works great for helping the foundation even out skin tone, and prevents my skin from getting oily as the day goes on. It also has a cool, refreshing feeling to it when you first put it on. My skin feels cleaner and looks cleaner if I use this under my foundation. Great product. 11/18/2013
A little goes a long way I got this because I have pinkish undertones and this helps out a lot! You don't need a full pump just a pea size will be plenty. I took off one star because I don't think it helps out with the longevity too much. 11/04/2013

I have redness on my cheeks, so I also wanna try that high-rated Redness Remedy, some review imply that product could actually fade redness in the longtime, but I'm not sure if both these two products can be used at the same time, and the order.

I use moisturizer then this, but if you have oily skin this would probably be enough. It goes on feeling wet but dries within seconds and feels weightless.

After moisturizer, always. It helps to sort of "seal in" your moistuizer. But make sure you allow both the moisturize and primer to dry before appling your foundation.

Jill, Primers are not traditionally moisturizers. They are to even out the texture of your skin before applying your makeup (to give you the best application) as well as to help extend the wear. Order of application should be:

Cleanser
Skin Rever-Upper (if you use that)
Moisturizer
Primer
Foundation

If you have dry skin, I would suggest the brightening primer. If you have an issue with oily skin, try the oil control. I have dry skin and I use the neutralizing primer because of my redness and I have no problems with it drying out my skin.

A:
It depends on your skin type. Are you oily, dry, or do you have excessive redness? The neutralizing primer is yellow and desgined to help color-correct redness in the skin. If you have very dry skin you might appreciate the brightening primer since dry skin can tend to look dull. If you have extreemely oily skin, or if you prefer a water based primer (as opposed to a scilicone one), try the oil-control version. But the original is your best bet if you are unsure, it works with every skin type witout question.

Primers are generally for all skin types unless specified (like the oil control). I have oily skin and use the Oil Control, Brightening, and Neutralizing. Its really about your preference. Oil Control i use most often, but brightening i use when my skin is a little dull. I just started using the neutralizing for my uneven tone and LOVE it! it will probably become my new go-to primer!

Buy the original. I didn't like this nearly as much, not silky the way the original is and it smells funny.
