Prime Time Eyelid Primer 4.7 5 90 90
Can't believe it lived without it! I received a small tester of eyelid primer in a collection I bought quite awhile ago, and just recently found it and decided to finally try it. Now, I can't believe I went for so long without it!! I have somewhat oily skin, and used to get frustrated when my eye shadow would collect in the crease by the end of the day. With the Eyelid Primer, the eye shadow stays put until I take it off--literally, it stayed in place even overnight! It makes it much easier to create interesting looks that last, and as a bonus, makes my eyes feel moisturized. I'm excited to try the tinted eyelid primers next! 09/18/2012
Brings Your Eyes and Eye Colors to Life You only need a VERY small amount of this primer. Not even a pea sized amount. Just a tiny amount. It spreads easily, goes on smooth and lasts all day. I took a flight at 5:30am and it's 10:43pm now and it has held up all day long. It's my first time trying eyelid primer EVER and I'm really impressed. It's good for making your eye colors come out and show up better on your eyes. I highly recommend this product. There are other eyelid primers, but I haven't had the experience with them so I tried the original just to try it out. It's great and it doesn't crease or clump up. Try it! It's a small bottle when you get it, but it will last a long time if you use it sparingly as it should be used. I added a photo for you all to see the size and also took the cap off in a second photo so you can see what it looks like on the inside as well. 09/06/2012
Great staying power! I'm that friend that does everyone's makeup whether for going out or for the BIG day, I will never not use this product! As a few people already mentioned, you only need an itty bitty amount for the perfect silky coating. I often use what is left when I apply along the bottom lash line since I often do the sultry smokey eyes. It keeps any eyeliner or shadows from sliding down my face as the day goes on. No more raccoon eyes! I always have two tubes. One for my at home kit and one for my to-go kit. Good in humid weather also. 05/14/2013
So glad I tried it I had seen this product before, and thought it was a gimicky thing and a waste of money. Boy was I WRONG! I thought my makeup stayed good enough before, but then I saw a sale for this product and a review raving about it, so I tried it. I will never go without this product again! It's so creamy and smooth, my eye makeup goes on so much more even then before. And it lasts all day, no exceptions. I put it on in the morning, and if I get to bed really late and don't wash my face I'll wake up and my eye makeup is still in place. It's amazing. This is now a must have in my makeup bag. And don't be fooled when you get it and the tube is small. A very small amount is all you use each day, and that little tube really lasts. I use it every day without fail and can't believe how long I go before I need to reorder. Worth every penny!!! You've gotta try it. 05/14/2013
Former "sufferer" For many years I've "suffered" without the use of gorgeous eye colors. This product has turned my eye-shadow wearing days inside out!!! Without it, eye colors are not as vibrant, last only hours, and creasing happens in less than an hour. With it--complete eye-beauty-perfection! NO creasing, STUNNING, VIBRANT eye colors, lasts ALL DAY LONG! How did I ever live without this stuff???? 03/05/2013
Key to vibrant eyes! I purchased the Prime Time Eyelid Primer at a BE Boutique. I'd been using the Matte & Mineral Veil for a few weeks, loved it & decided to branch out to other products. I experimented with the READY eyeshadow I purchased, with & without the Eyelid Primer. What a difference when using the Primer-it lived up to the claims and then some. It's amazing! The shadow application was more smooth (if that's possible), colors were more vibrant, & it still looks exactly as I've applied them in the morning at the end of a long day. It's a daily part of my eyeshadow routine to bring the Bare Minerals colors to life. You only need a tiny dab of this product to spread from lashline to brows, so the tube will last an incredibly long time. So far, I've loved all the Bare Minerals products I've tried! 02/28/2013
Love this Primer!! Without this primer my eye-shadow and eyeliner will disappear after two hours because of my oily eye lids but not anymore!!!! I use this primer all the time and my eye-shadow and eyeliner stays on for hours! This is the first and last eye primer I will ever use!!! 02/26/2013
Original is the best. When I take the time to do my makeup, I want it to last. I used to get so frustrated that I would put in the time and effort in the morning, but by 3pm you couldn’t really tell I put any make up that day. And then my sister showed me the Prime Time. Now, just take a few seconds – literally, to put a tiny amount on one pointer finger, rub between my two pointer fingers, then swipe on each eye from eye lashes to eye brows. Boom, done. A small amount goes a long ways. So one tube will last a long time. I have NOT been impressed with the colored and brightening versions. I guess the sequels just don’t live up to the original. This is super smooth, and doesn’t feel heavy or chalky. I wear it over my foundation. I wear contacts and it never bothers my eyes. If I get a little sloppy, because it is not very colored you can’t tell, which is nice. It doesn’t change the color of my eye shadow, and if anything makes the colors more vibrant. I like that I get the intense color without having to ‘build it up’ by putting a lot on. For me, it is totally worth spending the extra $18 so my make up stays on. Because if your make up is falling off, isn’t that kind of a waste of time and money if it doesn’t last? 02/12/2013
Cannot live without Picked this up when it first came out and it is something I cannot do without. With just a tiny bit the primer let my eye color stay on from 6 AM-8 PM during my friend's big day. My eyes outlasted everyone's and I stand by this product. It is a must have in my make up bag! 01/03/2013
Stays Put Without this primer, my eye makeup is gone by noon. With this, I can go from morning to late night with my makeup still looking fresh. I love this so much! 12/31/2012

I recently started using your Prime Time Eyelid Primer. I actually developed a pimple on my eyelid, which has never happened before. Is this a coincidence, or is the product not proven to be noncomedogenic?

I've been using this product for 6 months every day and never had this problem. I would think it was a conincidence, as I have gotten pimples on/around my eye in the past on occasion, so can be suseptible, but I haven't had one since using this.

I like prefer it to UD. I get creasing after about a few hours with UD, with this one I do not get creasing until about 7 hours. Ive got very oily lids though. Id describe it as not as slippery as UD, not as liquidy as UD, but it isn't dry looking either. I think eye shadow primer preference depends at least a little on skin type. I like UD under my eyes, but not on my lid. If you've got super super oily lids (oily within ten-fifteen minutes of washing face then try n@rs (@=a) shadow primer.

Not sure about the ingredients, but this works the same as the Urban Decay primer potion. Regardless of what primer I've used underneath, my BE and Buxom shadows have stayed on even in the 105 degree heat this summer. Was amazed. I do think the BE primer helps to enhance and intensify the BE shadow colors better than the other primers though. Also a big fan of the Primer Shadows and recommend those as well as this nude primer.

Squeeze out a very small amount onto your fingertip and lightly spread over your entire eyelid. It's very creamy and easy to smoothly apply, and it feels wonderful on. A little goes a long way, so keep it small. If you get too much out of the tube by accident dab a dot onto each eyelid to break it up, then smooth out with the pad of your finger. You can put on your eye makeup immediately, no need to wait for it to dry or anything, and your makeup will go on so much more even with the product than before.

It was my first time using an eyelid primer too. The folks at the BE Boutique showed me how to use it; amazingly easy. Just put a tiny dab on your finger, rub it between same finger of opposite hand to evenly distribute and apply to your eyelids from lashline to brows. Then apply eyeshadow over that.

You can apply the eyelid primer on your eyelid with your finger or a small brush. Personally I use my finger because I can distribute it evenly that way.

This is actually a multi-tasker that can be used in several ways. To apply, use a small amount (the less is MORE approach truly applies here) to your finger (& I'd suggest using your ring finger as it tugs on your skin less, to avoid causing wrinkles or stretching the eyelid) then sweep it over your entire eyelid area. Let dry, then apply your eyeshadow as desired. I wouldn't suggest building this particular primer as a color, because they have others that look much better for that, such as the Brightening & Brightening Pearl versions. Another great way to use, is to squeeze a dab on the side of your hand (thumb area) or pot lid, then dip your brush or finger into your eyeshadow & add it directly to the primer & swirl until well mixed. Apply to your eyes, & voila! It looks especially nice using glimmers, as it sort of "foils" them. This technique pretty much allows you to formulate your own primer colors (although the tinted primers are very nice as well). Lastly, I've read that some ladies like to apply the primer below their eyes either as a concealer, or a base to apply their make-up. Hope this helps!

The primer you got is a colored one, so you can use it two ways. Put it all over your lid (or lid to brow) as an eyeshadow, layering as needed until you get the color intensity you want. Add the shadow in the kit if you want into the crease & outer lid, then add the liner. OR you can use the primer just as primer, not eyeshadow. Just put a tiny amt on...less is more, let it dry and apply eyeshadow all over it. It'll make your eyemakeup last over 12 hrs with no touch-ups.

You should put the eyelid primer on before you apply your eye color. It will help it go on more evenly, more vibrantly, and will help the eye color stay on longer.

Do you apply this product before using the eyecolor or do you use this product in place of the eyecolor? I'm a little confused about the wholr prime time eyelid primer situation.

you apply the primer before using the eyecolor because the primer will hold the color for hours so the color will not fade. (its like a base coat for your eyelids) Now bareminerals do have eyelid primer with color where you do not have to use the eyecolor but that is for you to decided :)

The primer helps your eyeshadow stay on longer. If you've only used the eyeshadow by itself and had problems with the color wearing off or creasing, then you use primer to help eliminate that. Just squeeze a small dab of primer onto your fingertip (it doesn't take much to cover your lid, so don't squeeze out a large gob or it will make your eyelids look crepe-y and more wrinkly), then glide smoothly onto your lid. I also like to dab a q-tip lightly into the primer and apply right under my lower lash line to prevent my eyeliner from straying. Primer also helps bring out and enhance the beautiful colors of the BE shadows and it really helps to keep your shadow on longer even in hot, sweaty, and humid conditions. I never used to use a primer, but once I did, I haven't looked back and always use primer with my eyeshadows now.

Lynda: It may be that you don't need the BE eyelid primer before applying your BE eyeshadow. The primer is something you put on first and then the eyeshadow over it. This is like painting a wall in your house kinda....put the primer on first and then the color and the primer helps the color to stick better and look better. The reason I use this wonderful primer is because my forehead and nose are both oily which makes my eyelids a bit oily as the day wears on. This causes my eyeshadow to start building up in the crease of my eyelid basically disappearing from the rest of the lid (I hope that made sense!). The primer keeps the oil from affecting the eyeshadow so that it stays put all day and looks just as good at 8:00PM as it did at 8:00AM and I don't have to touch it up throughout the day. I LOVE this product! It saves me time (no touch ups) and helps me look good all day long!

You use this product under the eyeshadow. You can use this product with any brand eyeshadow to help the true color of the shadow to show up on your skin and to keep the eyeshadow from creasing or wearing off. This is a really good product--I have extremely oily eyelids and I can wear any eyeshadow with this product for about 14 hours without creasing (I have not found another product on the market that is as good as this one).

You apply the product prior to your eye color. You can use the Brightening primers in place of color as they have some sheen to them, but the original Prime Time goes on w/ a neutral finish. If color is what you're after, you will need to use shadow on top of the original Prime Time.

I'd have to say no. Maybe to get it to squeeze through the new container they made it thinner. The old formula had a thicker consistency that this just doesn’t have.

Yes it is. It is just different packaging. The new brightening formulas are different from this one. The brightening is the same color but with some shimmer, very pretty alone or with warm colors. The brightening pearl is a touch lighter with some shimmer and is best with cooler colors of makeup. I like the brightening primers for my lids and the original for under my eyes, but I am fair so I can do that, just a tiny bit.
