Q & A

Perfecting Face Brush 3.6 5 37 37
Excellent brush for liquid/serum foundation Though it was a bit expensive, I made sure to get this brush with the BareSkin liquid/serum foundation. It really does make a difference. I have had no issues cleaning either of the two brushes I have, though it's possible to tell the newer one from the older one. This brush can be a bit hard to clean compared to other brushes, but it's easier if you clean it more often (two to three times more often than a powder foundation brush). To dry, I set mine down vertically with the bristles resting on a paper towel and leaning up against something, and have had no issues getting it to dry relatively quickly. 05/26/2015
Won't last long Having owned so many other BM brushes, this one was great at first. Sadly, after the first wash, the shedding quickly began and before I knew it, I was basically applying falling brush hairs instead of makeup on my face. Worst brush I've ever owned, definitely not worth adding to your collection. 05/20/2015
Excellent for doing make up but cleaning… What a pain I haven't got it perfectly clean since I bought it. It's absolutely impossible to keep clean, all the foundation goes very deep in to the brush. I don't even know if I want to use it anymore since I feel like it's not hygienic at all. The reason for three stars is that putting foundation with this brush is great! It's easy and makes your skin look perfect. So putting foundation with this brush earns five stars but cleaning it only one, if even that. 05/17/2015
Not worth the effort At first I loved this brush. Coverage was great for first and second application of the bareSkin foundation. Then I cleaned the bruch and it was all down hill from there. Possibly because this brush is so dense, I cannot seem to get all of the foundation off of it using th BE Well Cared For Conditioning Shampoo. It also seems no matter how may times i rinse this brush, I cannot get all of the shampoo out and it takes at least 2 to 3 days to dry, even after I soak up excess water with a paper towel. As a result, I have had this product over two weeks and used only 4 times. My other brushes take 1 to 2 minutes each to clean. After 10 minutes, this is still not getting clean. After cleaning this brush, when I apply the makeup, there are noticable streaks and an un even distribution of product. At first I thought this was because of something I was doing wrong when cleanining it, but after looking at the online videos on how to clean my brushes! and speaking to a boutique rep, I am assured this is not the case. Like I said initially I loved ths brush, but it is too much maintenance. 05/09/2015
Just Meh I think the idea of the well is awesome but the head is too small. It takes me forever to buff in my foundation. Cool concept but not really worth it in the end 05/02/2015
BEST This brush was the best thing I ever did. It helped to perfect the flaws on my face when using foundation and it made everything so much easier. I love to use bare minerals products and will definitely try more things in the future. You are all so good at helping to perfect ones image. Thank you for the amazing products! 04/26/2015
absolutely love I bought this brush a few months after I started using Bare Skin...and I wish I would've gone with this brush initially. I use less foundation and it really does blend it in well. I used my old Sephora brush vs. This one and I love it. There's no bristle fall out and it's super soft. It doesn't saturate my brush as much either. I definitely recommend this brush. 04/01/2015
not for me This brush provides good , even coverage, but leaves bristles on my face. The shedding is terrible. I have to pluck the loose bristles before each use. Then it still sheds. 03/24/2015
I love this brush, but . . . I have been using this brush for less than a year and now the bristles are all falling out. The brush, when functional, gives good coverage - it's small enough to fit in my facial crevices, yet large enough not to take forever to cover my face. I just called the local boutique and they are going to replace the brush. We'll see what happens with this brush. I have never had a problem with bristles falling out of a Bare Minerals brush and I have a TON of all kinds! 03/20/2015
I didn't think I needed this I try not to spend money on things that aren't absolutely necessary, but the sales clerk told me that every person she sold the new broad spectrum serum to came back for the brush if they didn't get it at first, so I got it. I wouldn't have another brush to use, since this is liquid, and I use it every day. 03/01/2015

I use Well-Cared For, perhaps a bit more than the usual "dime-sized" amount recommended, and rinse about 5-6 times. It is a bit harder to clean than the other brushes designed for original, matte, or READY formulas, and for this reason I would recommend cleaning it twice to three times as often.

I am using the Perfecting Face Brush with the bareSkin Foundation and washing it once a week with the Well-Cared For Brush Shampoo. Whenever I wash it, I tend to repeat the wash about 7 times and there is still excess foundation coming out. Do you have any tips for cleaning the brush? Will washing it twice a week wear out the brush? Thanks!

The last time I washed mine, it took about five rinses to get the foundation out. It's possible you're using too much foundation, though the complaint that the brush is hard to clean is rather common from other reviews I have read online. You shouldn't need to wash it twice a week (once a week should be plenty).

It sounds to me like you may be using too much foundation. I apply a small amount (only about 2 drops total) and it is always much more than enough. It also may be that you sit the brush with the head facing upwards quickly after using your foundation. That may be causing it to run down into the base of the brush. I only wash my brushes about once a week, so I'm not sure if any more than that would be harmful, but since you're using the nice brush shampoo, I don't think that it would hurt.

There is a really helpful video about this posted under the Learn/Videos tab on this site. You can watch that of course, or here is the summary: wash it like any other make up brush, using brush shampoo (like the one from BM) or baby shampoo. Either way, it is definitely a good idea to wash your brushes so they stay in the best condition!

Same as every other brush, just more often! I have been washing mine about every 7-10 days. Just run the bristles under warm water and use brush shampoo to clean out until water runs clear. Be sure to hold bristles down so water doesnt get into the handle and lay flat to dry. Because the brush is synthetic, it does take a bit longer to dry.
