Q & A

Mineralixirs Facial Cleansing Oil 4.7 5 18 18
Wonderful cleanser I have very oily skin, but as the weather grew colder, I was feeling stripped by the Purifying cleanser, which is usually quite gentle. I stopped by the boutique for a sample of Mineralixirs Facial Cleansing Oil, and I'm so glad I did. It completely removes makeup and leaves my skin feeling comfortable yet clean. Sometimes I do add a pump of Purifying cleanser as I massage the water in before rinsing, but that's usually not necessary. It's a lovely cleanser that keeps my skin in good shape during this cold weather. I'm so glad I gave it a shot! As soon as I got to the end of my sample, I ordered a full size, which I now use most nights. 01/07/2015
Cleanser? While this product was gentle, my face never felt clean. I used multiple pumps, but never felt like I just used a cleanser. Perhaps for those with less oily skin than mine, this will work b/c it is quite moisturizing, but I need a deeper cleanse with no residue. I am sticking to the BM Purifying Cleanser. 12/23/2014
So different but so is the result! I bought this today and used it for the first time tonight. It is amazing. My skin does not feel tight and dry the way it normally does after washing my face. All of my makeup was gone with the first wash. I agree with a previous post that the recommended 4-6 pumps is excessive, I think 3 would suffice. This is a game changer for me. I also purchased the oil elixir and that compliments the wash very nicely. I am amazed at how soft and smooth my skin is and even more impressed that it literally dissolved all of my makeup! Strong work Bare Minerals! Love this line! I will be going back for the eye treatment. 12/22/2014
Awesome product for oily skin I have had oily skin all my life. I have always used cleansers formulated specifically for oily skin or for deep cleaning pores, but nothing has ever really made me oil-free. I shop at the Bare Minerals boutique in Southpark Mall in Charlotte, NC where several of the employees have been trying to get me to try Mineralixirs but I refused because it's an "oil." Finally, I was given a sample to try just as a nighttime makeup remover. I tried it and the way it dissolved my makeup was amazing so I went back and bought a full-size product. While telling the clerk how much I loved the way it took all of my makeup off, he told me that I should try it as my morning cleanser as well saying that it would help to normalize my skin. I have heard all my life that even if you have oily skin, you should use moisturizers, but I refused because they always made me even oilier. But I decided to give this product a try in the morning, fully expecting to be completely oily by the time I got to work. That was NOT the case! This cleanser does exactly what it says ... it helps to normalize your skin!! All this time, I've been using cleansers to deep clean my pores and keep the oil at bay, but this product is doing it all for me while my making my skin look and feel great! Even if you have oily skin, you have to try this cleanser night AND morning!! Just to get a squeaky clean at night, after I remove my makeup with Mineralixirs, I use the Deep Cleansing Foam #because I already had it# and my skin is so clean and fresh, it is unbelievable!! 12/17/2014
Amazing, Amazing, Amazing! Love this product! I was skeptical at first because it was oil based and I have oily/combination skin, but it left my skin feeling refreshed, soft, and moisturized! Instead of using the recommended 4-6 pumps and massaging it onto my dry face, I wet my face and then use 2 pumps. 12/16/2014
Squeaky clean! I am 64 and using my first purchase of this product. This is a MUST HAVE as it provides excellent cleansing with one application. It leaves my skin clean, refreshed, and soft. Love, love the cleansing oil. 12/07/2014
Purfect for my eyes I use it for my eyes due to fine and deep lines. I also use exfoliating cleanser mixed with purifying facial cleanser. I love them all. 11/23/2014
Good cleanser, except for one issue... I tried this cleanser in my local boutique, and have been very happy with it—cleanses without drying out my skin. My one complaint is that the first ingredient is safflower seed oil. I try very hard to avoid all PUFAs, and using it on my skin is almost as bad as ingesting it. As much as I love it, I guess I'm on a search for a different oil cleanser after I use up the bottle unless it's reformulated with a different oil. 11/17/2014
Awesome Product One of the best cleanser for the fall/wintery conditions here in South Korea. The elixir retains the needed moisture for my combination skin. My face is less dry and far less irritated by the winds and brisk conditions of the Fall Season. 11/15/2014
BEST Cleanser Ever!!! For years I have had a three-step process for removing my make-up and washing my face. I would remove my eye makeup with a skin sensitive lotion and tons of Q-tips (for the mascara), then I would use a make-up removing cleansing cloth, and THEN I would wash my face to remove "the leftovers". This Facial Cleansing Oil has streamlined this process for me because I can do it all at once! No more taking 30+ minutes getting ready for bed anymore! It removes my stubborn eye makeup, no matter how much mascara or eyeliner I have on. It removes my long-wearing BE face makeup, which doesn't even come off after an 8 hour work day and an hour of sweating at the gym. And surprisingly enough, it lifts away the dirt and oil from my face leaving my skin feeling soft and refreshed. I love the slight scent of rose, it is so pleasant and calming. My face not only feels better, it *looks* better too. My skin tone is more even, there's no dry or flakiness (not that I had a lot to begin with, but there was some), the fine lines I began to see on my face are less noticeable, and my skin has a natural glow to it. I have been using the cleanser 4-6 pumps at night (follow the directions on the bottle, it makes a difference) depending on how much makeup I am wearing, and 2 pumps in the morning just to refresh my skin. I've used less than 1/3 of the bottle in the past 4 weeks, so I am expecting this to last 3+ months (definitely worth the price). The combination of switching to BE skincare and BE makeup has made a HUGE difference for me overall. I will be using BE for life :) 10/16/2014

Just worried that this will increase the oil on my face. What is the benefit of this over other BM oily skin cleaners? Should this be used with another cleanser or what?

I generally use this alone, but sometimes I also add a pump of Purifying cleanser just before rinsing. My oily skin likes it, at least in colder weather.

YES this is awesome for oily skin! I was very skeptical at first, but it actually helps to normalize your skin. At night after I use this to remove my makeup, I follow up with the Deep Cleansinig Foam - just because I already had it - and my face is squeaky clean!!! I also use the Mineralixirs in the morning now too and it is amazing!

I have really oily skin but this product DOES NOT add oil to the face. I actually think it might actually lessen the amount of oil since it makes your face moisturized. I don't put the cleaner on my dry face since it feels really oily then, but if I use it on my wet face, then it's perfect.

Hey SkinRX! I have oily skin too and it did seem to control oil. HOWever I developed severe cystic acne after using this product consistantly for 3 weeks. I would reccomend using this occassionaly and your usual cleanser the rest of the time if you have acne prone skin. Otherwise, you'll probably LOVE it like I did!!

The best way to restore balance to oily skin is to use treatments that contain pure plant oils. Mineralixirs Facial Cleansing Oil contains Rosehip seed oil and Safflower seed oil. The benefits are: Delicately lifts away dirt and makeup, maintains your skin's natural moisture balance, and infused with a blend of plant-derived oils and a skin-enhancing mineral complex to help dissolve impurities. You can use this product alone and without another cleanser for better results.

I don't see any ingredients that are known to be risky for pregnant women, but please take the ingredient list to your doctor and ask.

Is this product for every skin type? I have sensitive skin with acne, and the less "scrubbing" I do, the less irritated my skin gets. It sounds like this doesn't need much to get the makeup and dirt off, and that would be perfect!

Each person is different, but it's worth a try. If you live near a boutique, stop by for a sample to test it at home. Good luck!

I think it's good for every skin type. I have sensitive, combo/oily, and acne prone skin and it doesn't make anything worse. I actually think it helps soothe the skin. My face feels so refreshed and moisturized, but not oily, after each wash. It does have a slight problem getting waterproof mascara off but other than that, I haven't had any problems with it removing every day makeup.

I definitely recommended! I also have sensitive, acne prone, and combination skin and it works wonders. Usually when you have sensitive skin with acne, it is better to use a cleanser that is gentle for your skin so it won't aggravate your acne. This product does it for you! Hope this helps.

You don't need to scrub with this product. At least I haven't needed to. I have combo acne-prone skin and have not broken out, so I think this would work well for different types of skin. YMMV

Alyssa,

I also have EXTREMELY sensitive & acne prone skin. I was skeptical at first, but the beauty advisor in the store assured me that it's perfect for all skin types. Beacuse my acne was very bad and devistating at one point, I'd done a lot of reading online regarding different products. A few of the blogs and forums that I'd visited had input from acne sufferers that also claimed that an oil make remover was NOT bad for your skin.

You dont need to scrubb with this product at all! You put a few pumps in your palm and apply directly to face without water, paying close attention to the areas of makeup you want to remove. And I tell you, you can see the makeup just melting off effortlessly. Then you add water, which gives a nice later, rinse and voila! Your face is really clean, without any makeup residue at all.

I personally used my regular cleanser after, only because I'm so afriad of leaving anything on my face that I think may clog my pores, but I'm sure this is not necessary...it's just my own obsesssion stemmed from eing truamatized by really bad acne at one point.

I honestly think you'll love this product! Hope this helps.
