Faux Tan Matte
warmth is better
I love all the BE line, however to me, this was just a lighter version of warmth, and I'm a medium/golden tan color , and I prefer warmth over this. they are similar but I like the depth of warmth, especially because I use a lot of warmth on my face, the faux tan was just too light
Sun kissed with no sun needed
I really like BM Faux Tan Matte. I use it as an alternative to Warmth, especially in the summer. I really appreciate that it does not have any shimmer to it, which looks a little too glittery for a daytime look for me. (I'm not in my 20s any more). As other reviewers have said, using it sparingly is the key to a great, natural look. The fan brush is excellent for application of Faux Tan. If you go too heavy on application, you can look a little muddy rather than gently tanned. Apply where sun naturally hits your face and you'll have a really convincing "fresh from a walk on the beach" look. The color definitely stays put all day... very long-lasting. Don't let the product color on the computer screen scare you... it looks great when you open the package. This product will last for years because you use so little for each application.
I have light skin but faux tan can be used for any skin tone, the only key is to not apply too much!!
Can't live without it!
I am in love with this bronzer! I have light olive skin (i wear Golden Fair Matte) and this bronzer looks amazing with my skin. It's not the same color as the original Faux Tan, but i like this one better. I ESP love the fact that it doesn't have shimmer in it. I can't believe how natural it looks and it's not orange at all. My make up does not look complete without this. :)
Use It As An Eyeshadow
Got this in a kit--on a whim, I decided to use it one day as an eyeshadow in the crease of my eyelid. I like it. It is not a Holy Grail, nor would I use it every day. However, I like it as a shadow--it does the job.
Not As I Had Hoped
I have pale skin and Warmth doesn't look right on me. The original Faux Tan would give me a nice glow with a hint of color without looking orange or peach-colored. I prefer a matte finish to the ever-so-slight shimmer that is in the original Faux Tan so I was quite happy to see Faux Tan Matte...that was, until I tried it. Faux Tan Matte is matte...however, the color is nothing like that of the original Faux Tan: this looks like a terracotta shade and orange on me. I am very disappointed and the BE Boutique told me that it looks like the original Faux Tan will be discountinued and this will take the place.
Just a piece of advice: if you like the shade of the original Faux Tan, this is nothing like it so tread carefully.
I have always feared bronzers because I see a lot of orange faces running around town. I don't remember what made me try it but I'm very glad I did. The color was intimidating at first and, if applied incorrectly, my fear was realized. However, less is more and, once I got the hang of it, it is a staple in my very simple makeup routine. I apply it with the fan brush and it gives my face natural and healthy color without the sun.
