Tips & Tricks

    NATURAL BEAUTY
  • To create the look of naturally lush lashes, dot eyeliner in between upper lashes, working color right into the base of lashes. Blend lightly with smudge tip for fuller-looking fringe.

  • FINE LINE
  • Start with a freshly sharpened pencil. Hold eyeliner at a 90-degree angle and slowly apply along upper lash line for ultimate precision. Begin at the inner corner of eyelid and follow the lash line to the outer corner of the eye for a crisp, clean line.

  • UP IN SMOKE
  • Master the art of the smoky eye. Apply eyeliner at a flat angle along upper and lower lash lines, beginning at the inner corner of eye and working your way out, for a bold, thick line. Blend with smudge tip for a smoldering blur of color.

Lasting Line Long-Wearing Eyeliner - null 3.5 5 115 116
My Everyday Liner I really like this eyeliner.. for the top lids. Very easy to apply and does last long. I would put on multiple layers for the color to get more bold. 04/02/2016
Smooth Glides on easily. Highly pigmented. Lasts all day. 03/18/2016
Left Me Still Searching I shall try to be nice. I see people who don't like products and they are quite nice in the way they review the products. This was a free gift. It's a good thing it was free. This pencil tugs on the skin and is not long lasting. It was gone in a few hours. The only reason I'm giving it two stars is that it worked well over another liner. I've been on a search for a good liner, and I am still searching. 03/14/2016
Meh... I won't be buying this again. Although it works great for the lower lash line, it can be difficult to put on because it really tugs at your skin. The color eventually will show up, but it won't be intense. Trust me. Disappointing. 03/10/2016
i love it! This eyeliner works really well. I prefer a liquid liner with a brush personally since it makes the point of my cat eye skinnier but I use this under my lash line at the top and in the corner of my eye since liquid liner tends to get in my eye if I get too close to it and the sharpener helps to make a good point for in the corner of my eye so it doesn't look thick. And for those random days i decide to wear it on the bottom it's perfect since you can sharpen it to make it thinner or make a point on your liner or smudge it out perfectly for a smokey eye. Please make a liquid liner Bare Escentuals. 02/26/2016
2.5 stars This was just okay. It was a good formula. My biggest complaint was that it did not last long at all and I am certainly not one to use a whole lot. I got to the the bottom and was very surprised. I really wish they offered a liquid liner. After using this once I had to switch back to Stila liquid liner. So now eyeliner is the only product I use everyday that is not from bare minerals. 02/24/2016
Eyeliner that glides on easily I use this eyeliner when I am going out for the night. I line my top lashes in either Absolute Black or Lasting Brown. I find that I have to sharpen the tip every time I use the liner as it flattens out easily. I've noticed that the color lasts longer if I use an eye primer on my eyelid than if I don't use one. 02/18/2016
Great! I love this liner because it doesn't dry out your lids. Yes it does smudge if you touch it directly, but I've had no problems otherwise. I actually like that it's not super dry permanent liner, when you remove it at the end of the day, there is very little residue. Other liners from other brands are really tough to remove and usually leave that dark residue under your eyes, this one doesnt. I usually apply and then use the smudger to rub it into my lash line (on top lid) a little to make my lashes appear fuller. LOVE! Ps I use the black, have not tried other colors. 02/16/2016
Ok but not Great Although I love the color, the eyeliner did smudge and the tube got stuck after only 15 days of use. I wish i could get more use out of this product then I did and it was actually smudge proof. 02/12/2016
Really, really wanted to love.... I love Bare Minerals. My holy grail foundation, skin care, lip stick, lip gloss, shadows.....but not this liner. Oh my goodness, how I wanted to love this as much as everything else. My first application was on a none primed lid. I applied the shade Forever Brandy and I was surprised that it wasn't as red as I was expecting, it's reddish-plum color that I really liked. It's very unique. It goes on very smooth and creamy and I used to tight-line and it went on beautifully . Then I closed my eyes to apply mascara. When I opened my eye, I had eyeliner over my entire lower water line!!! GACK!!! I removed everything, primed my lids, and applied the liner to the base of my lashes. Again it applied like a dream. I then applied my foundation and when I went to put on the mascara, I had liner in my inner corner, near my crease, and a little in the outer corner. I've used this liner and another shade for a month now and now matter what primer or shadow I use or how I apply it, I end up with liner on my lower lash line or even on my cheek. It's so frustrating and very disappointing. It does wash off very easily!! I won't be reaching for these again because for the price, I expect it to stay put. 02/04/2016

I would guess that it's because it's a waterproof product. I've only used on upper lid.

If you are referring to trying to use this liner on your lower water line, then I would say that you are doing nothing wrong as I've had the exact same problem. It does not seem to go on well in that area, and even if you get it on it seems to fade in less than an hour. I'd recommend using a different liner for water lines because this one just doesn't seem to want to go there.

I wish it'd auto-sharpen. The "built-in" sharpener is a tiny useless plastic thing that slides out of the end. It's connected to the smudger.

Unlike the other two who answered this question, I've had the exact opposite experience from them. This liner literally will not go on my lower waterline at all. I have used a lot of other liners for my waterline and have not had an issue with them (so I don't think I am completely doing it wrong haha). Basically the one time I actually got this liner to finally smooth on my lower waterline, it faded in less than an hour. I only use this liner for non-waterline purposes because of this.

I just posted my review on this. THAT is exactly what I love about this product. It is the ONLY eyeliner that EVER stays on my waterline.

The trick is to pull down the lower lid with your finger, blink once or twice to get away any wetness (it needs to be dry to apply), then apply as usual and you're good to go. Works all day for me!

I find this to be VERY creamy, but lasting! I find it to go on smoothly and without much tugging at all. I dont think you would Need to use moisturizer, but you could.

I've applied it both after moisturizer, without moisturizer, AND on top of dry/powdery shadow and it works great.

I do find this liner pretty creamy. Go into the store and try it. I'm 67. The only thing I found is that the sage color isn't very visible unless you layer it on top of a darker color. The best way to know is to try it.
