MATTE Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null 4.5 5 84 84
Must Have! I absolutely love this product! I tried it for the first time yesterday, and it has beautiful coverage! It only takes a small amount of it to cover the whole face. I highly recommend it! 11/09/2014
Best thing ever! I am 14 with a few blemishes and super oily skin and large pores on my nose and lovely undereye circles in the morning. Yikes! I started using proactiv which has been working great on my skin, and decided I didn't want to spend half and hour applying my face makeup. I found bareminerals, and after applying my green tea moisturizer, buffing a thin layer of this onto my entire face and spot concealing my blemishes and dark circles, I look refreshed and ready to go! A couple coats of my favorite mascara and I'm out the door. This product looks great even after basketball practice and softball games! Just need to be sure to Moisturize before use, I didn't at first and this product is chalky and blotchy since it has nothing but dry skin to blend into. Primer and setting spray helps too, but I save those for special occasions. Please do yourself a favor and buy this product now! 11/05/2014
Best Foundation I've Had I always have had a horrible time finding my shade of foundation. I change from summer to winter, and most foundations feel icky and seem thickly visible. Not this one! I've used the Fairly Light Foundation for 3 years now. It matches my skin regardless of tan or sans tan. It is light, I don't feel like I have a layer of goop over my skin-it's breathable! And the new Matte style is even better. I really like the idea of enhancing my natural skin, and this foundation does so flawlessly. 10/15/2014
Pore Magnifying I got this on hope that it would reduce the look of my pore size, no way! my pores are more emphasized! I like the way I look in pictures way better with the matte than the original ( I look less greasy) but, not much of a difference in formula. The original is better i feel..... 09/27/2014
golden Medium Matte is my baby so i have the original and the matte. which i luv both, but since summer was here was using matte more.. i totally in luv with both foundation... i recently changed to Bare minerals, cause my prior brand was just to thick and sometimes it was way to much for my skin, i felt like it didn't breath... with Bare minerals original and matte. i feel like there Air actually hits my skin, and my skin breathes. so light on the face but it has coverage. and u can build it which i luv.... now i can't stop shopping on this site.. im also a hairstylist and makeup artist so i know about makeup and also how so many brands feel.. and this is just so good for everyday look n feel... 09/25/2014
I love this! I'd used bare escentuals mascara and lip stain before, and I was in the market for a fresh light weight and natural looking foundation. I decided to go into a bare minerals store and give it a shot.. Not only did I have some of the best customer service (Thank you Rika at Crabtree Valley mall for being my best friend for a day while I was shopping!) Once she helped me find all the proper shades and products that work best for me, she showed me how to apply it... which is so easy by the way!! I slept in that makeup that night (even with my acne prone skin) and I haven't had a problem with my skin yet! This stuff is so natural that it doesn't affect my skin at all! and when I wear it, it looks like I'm naturally that beautiful :) People don't even believe that I wear makeup :) And just to let you guys know, I wear the original powder foundation matte in fair. I also really like the blush.. not sure the name of the color but it's kind of a plum-y color. I use the brush Rika recommended. The primer and finishing veil are favorites of mine too! 08/27/2014
The best I've found so far This is the best foundation that I have found yet. I have tried many foundations, and this was the first powder that I have tried and the last. I am extremely oily, and I have to use this and the mineral veil, and touch up about every other hour, but compared to other foundations that would be shiny in 10 minutes and slide off my face this is a must. I would recommend for oily skin like mine along with the mineral veil and the BB tinted primer. My favorite makeup brand. 08/27/2014
I will never use liquid foundation again. I wear foundation every day, and I have recently grown very tired of the oily feel and look I have by the end of the day. I wanted to try something that looked felt more natural, but I was concerned that Bare Minerals would not cover my blemishes. I was wrong! As soon at the salesperson at Sephora applied this foundation, I knew I had to buy it. It covered by acne, but still looked super natural. I no longer feel very oily at the end of the day. This product is a must-have! 08/12/2014
Everything I needed. I tried Bare minerals original foundation and the ready go foundation and wasn't very impressed. I have combination and sensitive skin, so I really liked the bare minerals products because they didn't make me break out like most other makeups do. I decided to try bare minerals again and have been using the matte foundation. I LOVE IT. it gives the the smooth matte coverage I love especially during summer and is easy to go on. It doesn't take long to apply and gives me that soft natural matte look I've been looking for! I FOUND MY DREAM PRODUCT. I couldn't be happier! 07/24/2014
life changing I am native American and Sicilian so I have olive skin and the golden tan matches me perfectly. I also love how weightless it feels. I like other women used to suffer from adult acne. I tried all sorts of foundations to try to cover the break outs and even out my skin everything from covergirl, maybelline even shear cover and it would make my skin more oily and break me out even more. My dermatologist then recommended Bare Minerals to me. I've been in love ever since. The foundation is my most have cant live without!! 07/08/2014

I would like to know how young can you start using your products? I have a pre-teen that is beginning to get acne and would also like to know before I start purchasing your line for acne. I am also interested in the sheer powder that seals the makeup.

Absolutely it is safe for them to use. I dont recommend it at all for though. Its very gentle on the skin but it is not great for acne. I have bad bright red acne sometimes cysts. It covers but looks very unnatural and cakey if you need quite a bit of coverage. I suggest if you do purchase it to make sure to use primer and some form of green cream to reduce the redness. I find using a concealer specifically on the bumps helps too.

I started using makeup in 6th grade at age 12 and even though I am still in my teens, this makeup is one of the best I have used (and I have tried a lot).
It feels and looks natural and I have many allergies and sensitive skin.
Their finishing powder is also light and great.
No matter what age this is a great makeup brand and better than a lot of those heavier and less natural foundations out there.

Yes I believe so! The Matte may be a bit darker but it is hardly noticeable! When I went to get my shade match in the store the artist tried on both and told me that they look the same on me. (Medium Beige) The only real big difference is the finish between Matte and Illuminated.

Yes, they are the same color, with Mattes just not having a that "glowy" look (from the mica in the Original). The Matte may be a teeeennnyy shade darker, but not enough to need a whole new shade.

Hope this helps!

I honestly can't say if this has any type of oil or not, but I can tell you it's great for acne-prone skin. I have acne and my face gets oily, I have been using this product for some time now and it has never made my face break out worse and it hides and acne and acne scars very well. I highly recommend trying it!

I have had acne for a good portion of my life. This foundation has never made my face break out (milk actually contributes to my acne so I switched to almond milk), however, this make up really helps cover the discoloration caused by acne. Once my face cleared up after switching milk, I love this make up even more! I get comments all the time about my skin and I know it's the make up that makes it glow! It it not oily or heavy. It is actually quite light and I believe the ingredients are listed on the site. No oil that I know of!

I have oily/sensitive skin and my dermatologist wants me to use only non-comedogenic makeup to help with my acne.

Are bareMinerals products non-comedogenic?

I've been using bareMinerals products for years and would hate to have to find another brand!

Their matte formula is non-comedogenic. Not sure about their moisturizers because I've had issues with them. Try Half Pint Minerals foundation---more gentle and less expensive.

I have had oily, sensitive skin prone to breakout nearly all my life. I wish that Bare Minerals had been established decades ago. Bare Minerals products do NOT clog my pores or break out my skin, unlike so many other brands that even claim to be non-comedogenic, even those very expensive brands. I had to stop wearing makeup years ago until I tried Bare Minerals. I use the Matte Foundation along with the primer for oily skin which keep my skin looking and feeling good all day. I also use the Exfoliating Cleanser (a powder) which does not irritate my sensitive skin. Hope this helps.

Is the color right for you, are you using a primer and a finishing powder?
If not, I would get a color that matches your neck and your body.
Also make sure to use primer and to use a finishing powder. I have oily skin, and even this brand gets oily on me, but with the mineral veil its still matte.
I use the matte foundation (powder) which is nice and light and good for oil skin. I wouldn't use a liquid foundation for oily or sensitive skin.
Apply with a flat brush in a circular motion which evens out the tone, and make sure to do the makeup down your neck as well. Then use a powder brush to apply a finishing powder.

I have the oiliest skin on the planet so I can relate. I use sephora silicone free primer after cleansing my skin. Then I apply a layer of mineral veil to my entire face, concentrating on the t-zone. I then apply my matte BM foundation, concealer, blush..etc. I add another layer of mineral veil and voila shine free for a couple of hours at least lol. Mineral veil is perfect for touching up through out the day too!

I had the exact same problem a little while ago (I am 14). I went without makeup for about two weeks before I got super self-conscious about the redness on my face. First of all, your face could be a little red due to sun. Even though it's winter, I wear sunscreen EVERY day to protect my skin. SPF is a life saver. I wear Shiseido Oil Free Urban Environment Sunscreen. It's not oily and doesn't make your skin white. If you wear this, and then a light powder, you should feel confident without feeling like you're wearing a mask. That's what I do! I wear sunscreen under a little powder (BareMinerals Matte Foundation) and I am good to go! My friends say that it looks super natural and that they can't tell that I am wearing makeup! I hope this helps :)

Please don't go without makeup, because good makeup, like Bare Minerals, helps to protect your skin from negative effects of the environment, such as air pollution, sun damage, very dry air and cold weather to name a few. I have had very oily and sensitive skin nearly all my life, and Bare Minerals is the best I have used for my skin. To start I always wash my hands before I touch my face. Cleaning my very oily skin is important, and Bare Minerals has good treatment products for oily skin. I especially like the Exfoliating Cleanser which does not irritate my also sensitive skin. Before applying makeup I use the primer for oily skin - I don't use a lot either. I slightly wet my fingertips with water to help smooth on the primer. Then I apply the Matte Foundation powder with a clean brush. This combination keeps my oil in check for nearly all day.

With this kind of a product you want to use a shine free(oil free) primer first before putting this on. Also, use the matte version to help with the shine. With this product, less really is more. Start with a little and it should form to your face. This is what i do. Hope this helps.

Make sure you cleanse first, use a moisturizer ( oily controlling is good like the combination skin moisturizer by bare essentials), use the foundation primer. Then apply. If it looks like a mask you are likely applying it too heavy. You may want to find a boutique or sephora store to color match you. Also when you load the brush it is important you tap out the excess so it does not cake on when you apply it.

First, if you are not wearing a primer, you probably should. This is the number one problem most people have when it comes to makeup-meltdown. Second, start off with a tiny amount of foundation and build on your coverage. Third, make sure you set it with Mineral Veil, a lot of people think that this does not make a difference but it really does! After this step, you can use a setting spray to lock in everything if you think this won't be enough. And finally, if all else fails, you may want to try plan B:) hope this helps and good luck!

I personally think that the Original Foundation is perfect for women over 25 - it makes your skin look luminous and dewy! However, as a teen, the matte foundation is a better option, because it prevents shine. However, I personally think it doesn't give as much coverage, which I actually like because my face doesn't look cakey. You should give it a shot!

The original is luminous and makes your skin look dewy. The matte formulation evens the skin tone for a more simple look. The matte also does not contain bismuth oxychloride, as some are allergic to it.

Hi Binnie! It depends on your skin and what you like. I used the original for YEARS and then found it didn't work for me anymore because of the "glowiness' . It just looked and acted badly making me look older and my skin bad. I also was starting to have problems with itching. I tried the matte and I LOVE it. I am able to use my foundation again because the matte has more of a natural skin finish without the shine, just a good healthy look. I found it also stays on longer because it helps with areas you might get oil. Because of the different formula it doesn't make me itch either. I would definitely try it first and see how you like it! You might find there are days you want that more natural finish or you could even mix it with the original to get a really nice look with a little longer lasting power. You can see the difference if you put some on your hand side by side, the matte kind of just melts in and is invisible while hiding "stuff' you don't want! The original has that "glow" that you see on your skin. Don't miss out on the chance to give it a try, you might find you like it as much as those who use it everyday!

The original foundation has a natural finish and is for normal to dry skin and the matte foundation is for controlling oil on the skin so let's say you have dry or normal skin I think you would want to keep using the original and if you have oily skin you are going to like matte foundation because it will keep skin oil free all day! I hope my answer helped you.
