Q & A

MATTE Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 203.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection Thank you for expanding your color line. I wear the new shade fair ivory which is a perfect match. I use the beautiful finish brush and it's perfection. After my first sheer coat I am able to zero in on areas that need more coverage very quickly. I'm 57 with acnegenic skin and this blurs my scars and pores. This never breaks me out but also doesn't dry out my skin or settle into lines. Holy grail status for me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this foundation! I have NEVER liked wearing foundation but I gave this one a try and I absolutely love it! It makes my skin feel great and even helped my acne clear. Seriously my acne has been better since wearing foundation.. I would've never believed it if I hadn't tried it myself.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Foundation I've finally found the perfect foundation. It is just the right amount of coverage. It evens out my skin tone (I have a yellow undertones but tend to have rosier cheeks) yet it is somewhat sheer and doesn't look heavy. The finish is matte, which in my experience happens to make it look a bit more pigmented as compared to the original foundation so I'd recommend dropping down a shade to compensate. I'd also recommend using a primer under this, as I accidentally put it on once after I forgot primer and it clustered around my pores. This foundation also has SPF which is an extra bonus, as it protects your beautiful skin underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Foundation. The Foundation itself is fantastic. I've been using it for 5 years now. My only complaint is that I wish they would make the container such that I could unscrew / open it to get the last 3-4 applications out. I'm shaking it upside down for an hour to try to get it all out, because it's not cheap. But the Pros outweigh the cons. I LOVE LOVE that it doesn't feel or look like I'm wearing makeup. It lasts all day and it blends so well. I use a large brush to apply it with. When I first was being taught how to use it by one employee she used some type of sponge to apply it. I returned and explained how I liked it but the application method was making it way too thick. The next consultant taught me to apply a small amount to a brush and tap it off before applying. That is the best trick. Works perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this Foundation!! I have been using this foundation for about 4 to 5 years now and I cannot express how much I love it!! I Love how this foundation is so easy to use and I find it is good for all ages. I have tried so many different kinds of foundation but I always end up back with this Matte powder. I absolutely love how this foundation fills on your face, rather other products can make your face feel like the foundation is caked on. This foundation fills like you don't have anything on and makes your skin feel and look great!!! I have would definitely recommend this to a friend and will be most definitely be repurchasing this product every time I run out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Good for my oily skin, medium coverage and also convenient in bag if I bring it to-go. Love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great foundation I used this foundation a couple years ago because I felt I had oily skin. I got compliments on my skin/makeup when I wore this. I used the BareSkin for a bit by itself and am now layering the two. Even together my face is not caked on or unnatural-looking.

Asked by: Jc44
I use this with BE's foundation primer and with the mineral veil, and it often lasts over 12 hours, if I don't let anything touch my face.

How do I open the circular case that holds the foundation when it's almost empty to get the last bit out?

I want to open the plastic casing that holds the matte powder foundation. It says to "lift the sifter off". How do I do that? I have tried everything and can't open it!!! I end up wasting foundation because I can't get the last bit out.
Asked by: kcaito89
You have to use a screwdriver, push it under and pop it off. But that does, really nothing. You're still left with the same tiny holes and can't get the foundation out. To really do that, requires an entire toolbox - and you'll probably hurt yourself and break the plastic trying. Speaking from experience. Just spend 30 minutes shaking that last bit out. It's really the only way. Since this is the only bad thing about this wonderful foundation, I've learned to deal with it. But if they would improve the container... (hint hint) that would be much appreciated.

what foundation would look better a matte or luminous?

I have trouble with the powder. Trying to find the best color for 58yrs old. Something that wont go into the creases. I have blonde hair and blue eyes with normal skin.
Asked by: Sexy
I am also 58 I would recommend the luminous ( original)since you have normal skin. I have oily skin so I use the matte version. I get very good results when using a primer & find it absolutely does not settle in my wrinkles like other make-ups. As far as what shade it's hard to say just be aware the actual product is lighter than it appears on-line. I ordered based on the images but ended up going to Sephora to get color matched, if this is not possible for you I would call customer service they are helpful maybe if you can think of a famous movie star whose skin color most matches yours they can recommend the right shade for you. Hopes this helps.

Why am I getting build-up in my smile lines when I use the matte foundation?

I've never had this with any other make-up foundation and I have used the same liquid primer for almost 10 years now. I love the way this product makes the rest of my skin look and feel but it is so frustrating and embarrassing to deal with. Also, I do not have the gathering of make-up in my smile lines when I simply wear a primer foundation so I know it has to be the matte finish that is causing this issue. Thank you in advance BM.

I use your mineral powder foundation in warm tan; what would be the closest color to that in liquid?

Warm Tan = ? in Liquid foundation?
Asked by: Kumi
im a warm tan powders and have tried bare skin and complexion rescue. honestly unless you want to use multiple items , there isn't a shade that matches. i tried bare walnut and turned out really paste-y even though it looked like it would match. the only thing i can say is to maybe take a chance on espresso or bare mocha since they're the only 2 shades left. one of them may work

Is this product safe for teens or preteens?

I would like to know how young can you start using your products? I have a pre-teen that is beginning to get acne and would also like to know before I start purchasing your line for acne. I am also interested in the sheer powder that seals the makeup.
Asked by: Anlock
I made the switch to bare minerals because of my own acne issues, it is definitely worth it for helping to prevent acne. Serious word of advice though would to bring her in to a boutique so they can show her just how little of the make up she needs (it's free). Otherwise she may load it on and you will be broke within a few months!

What is the best shade down from Medium Beige?

My regular shade of Medium Beige is too dark for my winter skin, which shade down would suit me best?
Asked by: Cammie
Your best bet is to walk into a store and ask the employees. They will match your perfect shade and they will do it all for free! They are super helpful, but of course they are salespeople, so just know what you're going in for and draw the line at that if they start to offer more.

Are shades the same as the original?

I use Medium in the Original, is the medium the same shade in the Matte? Thanks!
Asked by: Bec
I have found the shades to be the same. I wore Golden Tan in the Original for years and I switched to Matte about a year ago. The color is still a perfect match, but now I don't have that super skinny glisten when my skin gets oily. It has a more natural dewy look after 2 hours.
