Q & A

Buff & Go Brush 4.1 5 14 14
Perfect little to-go brush I have a little bag that I keep in my purse for touch ups throughout the day, and this is a fantastic little addition. I'll admit I use it for everything - foundation, warmer, blush, and mineral veil. This & a small concealer brush is all I need. So convenient! And it's super soft, which is a plus...and being retractable I don't have to worry about this one getting smushed in my purse like I worry about my concealer brush. And just for the record, no, I don't love it more than my full size brushes but for being a brush on the go, this is perfect. 09/23/2014
Perfect for purse! I love this little retractable brush. I know it was made for mineral veil, but I use it for foundation coverage too. It is soft and easy to clean, plus so very perfect for my makeup bag. You can not go wrong with this little wonder! 08/08/2014
Soft brush, love that it's capped! This is my favorite BE brush. I use it for my foundation, and it ensures that the power goes on smoothly and covers all my imperfections. The bristles are soft, and they're super easy to clean. I love the cap. I can slip it in my makeup bag without having to worry about the bristles getting damaged or broken off. Every girl needs one of these for travel at least...I have 2! 11/18/2013
Not just for Mineral Veil... I got this in a kit for Mineral Veil, but put it away because I had other brushes. I found it again when I was looking for a brush to put in my after-gym makeup bag. I have been using this for the Ready foundation, and it is perfect! it is soft and densely bristled, and picks up the foundation like a magnet. Definitely a keeper! 10/25/2013
Great for on the go! I love the design of this brush! It is great for on the go, it is antibacterial and doesn't get smushed in my makeup bag! My only complaint is that sometimes you have to play with the tube a little when you pull it up to put it away to prevent the cap from bending the bristles. 10/14/2013
Magic Brush I have tried just about every foundation brush out there and never found one that I love till now. It covers flawlessly and, the best part, it doesn't leave those little brush hairs everywhere! 04/07/2013
Soft as always and portable too...Love it! I bought this today at my local store that carries BE products. I took pictures too so others can see how portable it really is. I'm not sure why this product has an overall score of 3/5. I have dual purposes for this brush. I used my mineral veil with this, just to see what it would do and it doesn't do an overkill on my face at all and I have a Golden Dark skin tone. Secondly, I can foresee myself using this with either my matte or original foundation. I DO have a soft focus face brush that I would use for my mineral veil, a flawless application brush for my Warmth All Over Face Color and for foundation I can use this tool. It's really soft, portable and for me, it was worth getting. Little Tip/Advice: Make sure you retract the neck of the brush ALL THE WAY DOWN. This way you get the FULL bristles all the way out of the brush so that you can get the full effect and use of this brush. The neck of the brush is the part that the brush comes OUT of when you protract (push up) the bristles which happens when you retract (pull down) the neck of the brush. 03/06/2012
This is the only bush I use for my foundation application. It give awesome coverage and make pores dissappear. It also cleans up really well. 03/06/2012
Not quite right I picked this up at the BE boutique in the kit with the 'measured' mineral veil. In general, I'm a huge fan of retractable brushes; I think they hold their shape, etc. better than 'normal' brushes. So I bought the kit specifically for this brush--I had a 2/3 full MV at home that I was using. It's true, the bristles are very soft and comfortable to use. It's also true that the brush is the same diameter, etc., as the Flawless Face Brush. And unlike some other reviewers, I haven't had a problem the mechanism. For me, the problem with this brush is that it's far, far too short. The length of the retractable barreland the bristles isn't sufficient to pick up and distribute product as effectlvely as other BE brushes; so the product doesn't seem to buff on as well. 08/30/2011
I started using BE foundation using the natural brush that came in the starter pack but I felt that I did not get enought coverage with the natural brush at al. THEN i came across the Buff & Go...I LOVE it. I only have to brush one area of my face only once as compared to a couple times using the natural brush. I would defintely recommend this brush to women who would like better foundation coverage. 08/28/2011

I have a several BE brushes that have the regular long handle, which I clean with the brush shampoo with no problem. This brush seems a little more tricky with the retractable handle though. Is there a special washing method? I need to clean it, but I am afraid I will ruin the brush.

I haven't had an issue cleaning this brush. I clean it as I do the other brushes, and then gently blot out excess water in a soft towel and I hang it upside down to dry (I usually use rubber bands to make a contraption to hold the brush upside down. Just make sure it's fully dry prior to retracting and putting the cap back on since this one won't dry any more when it's "put away".

I have been using this with the Ready foundation, and it works like a dream! I am sure it would work very well with the Ready Mineral Veil as well.

I have found mine works best with the loose powder. I seem to get more even and better coverage with the loose because it picks up more.

This is just a brush with lid. Looks like the picture on the website, says "Buff & Go" on it, but it won't twist or anything in order to get it to retract. Help!

You pull up the barrel of the brush from the base when you are done and replace the cap. It doesn't twist.

I have pictures below to help with this. The way this Buff & Go picture is set shows you what your brush will look like when you have PROTRACTED it. When you RETRACT this brush, you hold this brush at the neck (the middle part of the brush) and pull it UPWARD...this is how your retract the brush pulling the bristles into the bottom portion of the brush. Then, you put the cap on it and then PROTRACT the brush, meaning you will push both the top portion of your brush and the bottom portion of your brush together. This brush is a great space saver! Hope this explanation and the pictures will help you out, Val!

It doesn't really retract just pull the metal at the base of the bristles up so they're not exposed anymore. Then pushe the lid on :)

I can't figure out how/if Mineral Veil is added to the brush or if it holds Mineral Veil somewhere. It's a waste of my money as far as I can tell.

It does neither. You would shake the mineral veil into the cap and swirl and tap the brush like you would any other brush. The brush is also amazing with the Ready Mineral Veil or foundation.

You take the top off, you push the metal neck of the brush downward all the way down to reveal the brush. This brush is to be used for mineral veil for touch ups to your makeup throughout the day for that fresh, lively look. This is completely optional, but this can be used for foundation as well if you choose. I WAS going to use this for foundation, but I have a retractable brush and Flawless Face Brushes that can do just as good of a job. A retractable brush is a bit cheaper than this brush which is catered for mineral veil. The retractable brush is mainly for foundation.

You can't store foundation in this. Have you tried Sephora's Sifter Jars? They're empty, but you can fill them with your favorite things like foundation, veil (the loose powder version) or blush. Eye shadow is optional, but there is so many eyeshadows out there you may not even need a sifter for that. It's only $3.00 and I recently ordered 6; 2 for foundation, 2 for concealer and 2 for blush.

There is a refillable buffing brush, but I would rather swirl tap and buff myself versus a brush that may give me too much on my face. I haven't tried the refillable brush yet. Good idea for some, but I'm not sure if it would work for me or not just yet.

There are refillable compacts on the BE website too. A bit more in cost, but if you fear of losing your main source, you can always store a little of it into a compact or the Sephora sifters. I would rather lose a $3 sifter than my whole 26 or 28 dollar foundation jar, you know?

I have makeup for my swim bag, my purse, for hotel visits and one I use for when I feel like putting on makeup at home just because. This line of makeup has bettered my skin so just wearing it for the fun of it has only helped my skin and self esteem.

This little brush does not have a reservoir for product. It is simply a very soft brush that is easier to take with you in your purse, or when packing for travel. If you pack it in a ziploc bag with your other brushes/tools, the bag stays clean. You won't have foundation or mineral veil all over your purse. Have fun with it.

This isn't designed to hold foundation. It's a portable buffing brush as opposed to the Refillable Buffing Brush (which I use for both Foundation and Mineral Veil).

Since it's basically a Baby Buki with a lid, it's great as a brush to toss into your purse, gym bag, etc.

One trick - Swirl the brush in your favorite MV or Radiance, pop the cap on, then carry it in your purse for a quick 1-time dusting during the day.

It's a real fave at our boutique.

Usually the BE brushes are made of Goat Hair. Some other BE brushes use Ox hair, Pony hair (both super soft; example: heavenly blush brush which I have purchased and fell completely in love with) and also Taklon.

Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what it looks like. It's portable, the bristles are soft and for me, it works great. I would use this Buff & Go brush with foundation, the Soft Focus Face Brush for the mineral veil and the Flawless Face Application for the Warmth All Over Face Color.
