Rated 3 out of 5 by Too Expensive!!! I've bee using this for a couple of months and I'm really not that impressed with this product. It is so expensive too. Kind of heavy. I do love the smell of it, though. 01/09/2017
Rated 2 out of 5 by Very sad costumer Just need to vent about the new product line. I've been a loyal costumer for years , thoroughly enjoying the purely nourishing moisturizer, the deep cleansing foam, and exfoliating treament cleanser . However, I'm frustrated with the new butter drench moisturizer. Firstly, I don't love the scent. It smells like a cheap cream. It doesn't absorb as well as the purely nourishing, and it's too expensive. Seriously, this new bottle is almost DOUBLE the size of the old cream and it's same amount inside. So basically we are paying more for a FANCIER BIGGER bottle with a lower grade moisturizer. I'm pretty surprised , especially this day in age when everyone is into using LESS plastic!! As soon as my moisturizer and facial cleanser run out, I will not be purchasing anything anymore from Bare minerals. Unless I hear that the old product line was brought back. I rarely give bad reviews and I'm very sorry to have to write this. 01/02/2017
Rated 1 out of 5 by Butter Drench cream I bought this product from macyes store, i just use it for week and stop immediately because i got rush in my neck and face, beside that i don't see the change it just darken my skin. I do not like complaining but don't recommend this product. 12/23/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Can't use I just got this last week and used it twice, both time my face started burning and turned red. Will be returning for something I'm not allergic to. 11/17/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Answer to prayer! Since I hit my 50's, my skin has gone desert dry! My skin drinks this in like it is water. I have tried so many products and decided to try this. My skin is left feeling soft and not greasy. Thank you! I have read other reviews and notice a discontinued product fit their skin...so knowing how hard it is for some people to find a product that works with their skin, I hope you bring that product back too. Love this creamy dreamy moisturizer! 11/03/2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by please bring back Purely Nourishing Cream Like many other reviewers here, I have been a user of the now-discontinued Purely Nourishing Cream and I LOVED it. I'm 33 years old with dry skin that is very acne prone and pretty much everything makes me break out. I was heartbroken when I went to re-order the Purely Nourishing Cream and saw that it is no longer available. I tried this BUTTER DRENCH Restorative Rich Cream thinking it would probably be similar, but it made my skin red, very noticeably! I actually had to rush out the door that morning to get my cat to the vet on public transportation, and imagine my surprise when I got home and saw myself in the mirror with what looked like a sunburn on my whole face. I do like the smell and it FEELS nice, and it miraculously doesn't make me break out, but my skin isn't happy with it. I actually came to this site in order to ask customer service which current product is the most similar to Purely Nourishing Cream, and decided to check out reviews on this BUTTER DRENCH cream and was sad to see that this is apparently the replacement for Purely Nourishing. Bare Minerals, PLEASE bring back the Purely Nourishing Cream!! Until then, I have to try to find another moisturizer that is moisturizing without breaking me out. 10/11/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by PLEASE bring back the Purely Nourishing line - Dry Skin! I was a devoted user of the Purely Nourishing dry skin moisturizer, buying 2 or 3 at a time so I had one in my makeup bag, one in the bathroom, and one to travel with. It was perfect. Sized small enough to go in a carry on case on the airplane, a jar not a tube so change in altitude didn't make it squeeze out. Lovely, Silky, Rich but not greasy, and no scent. I used it as a day AND a night moisturizer and my skin loved it! I had spent years trying all kinds of other moisturizers and was over the moon that I finally found perfection in the Purely Nourishing - Dry skin. I can't tell you how disappointed I am that they discontinued it. I called three different boutiques and bought everything I could get my hands on to delay the inevitable switch to something different. I tried a sample of the Butter Drench. My skin was very unhappy with it. It made my eyes sting and face blotchy and red. I'm not fond of the smell. I used two sample pots, which lasted about a week, for morning and night use. My skin still does not like it. I am using the last jar of my precious Purely Nourishing to get my skin to recover, but where I go from there, I guess I get to go back to searching for perfection. WHY did you discontinue a wonderful, PERFECT product?!!! please, please, please bring it back! 10/04/2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Miss the old moisturizer I have pretty dry skin. I loved the old "thoroughly nourishing" (Hope I got that title right?) moisturizer. When I discovered it was discontinued I tried the new "butter cream." I do not like it nearly as well. It's a bit oily and does not soak into my skin as well as the old moisturizer. Very pricy for a product that I honestly don't like as well. I know it rarely happens but I hope you will consider bringing back the moisturizer and cleansers from the old line. They were great! 10/02/2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Mediocre at best It moisturizes , but it isn't special in any way. I used the Purely Nourishing cream for years and it was exceptional- my skin LOVED it. It did something magical to my face and my make up took to it like a kitten to cream. It was so popular it was frequently sold out. I don't think it's necessary to drop a hugely popular product for a new one. I have tried all of the new line and don't care for any of it and am using a different line for skincare. Now that shiseido owns the line it's really gone down in some respects- dropping a best seller just seems like a dumb thing to do. They've tweaked the skincare a couple times now- no one wants to like a product only to have it disappear. They are chipping away at customer loyalty. 08/25/2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by No More Dryness I am 45 and my skin is very dry and highly sensitive. I tried every over the counter moisturizer known to man & everything left my face feeling like it was on fire. I tried Mary Kay skincare 20 years ago & it worked very well for me. Not sure if it was age or the fact that I had been using the same moisturizer for so long but I started getting red blotches on my cheeks so I took the leap of fear & switched to Jessica Alba's Honest and the cleanser did not clean my face that well & the moisturizer still left my face feeling tight so I decided to try Bare Minerals. I love this product. I use it every morning before applying my makeup & every night after I get out of the shower. I have also noticed the red blotches on my cheeks start to disappear. I've only been using this for about 2 months but its been a very happy two months. 07/15/2016

Has this been tested on those allergic to Eucalyptus? I'm wondering if the form it's in may be different and not cause allergic reactions for me as trees and even sprigs of it in bouquets of flowers do. I'd appreciate your input. I am placing an order today and hoped to order it but since the 2 moisturizers I planned on trying have eucalyptus in them, I will have to wait for a response. If you have a sample, I'd appreciate if one could be included in my order so I can test it. Thank you and blessings!!! I am looking forward to the cleansers and longevity serum I am ordering and I may try the gel moisturizer for now even though my older skin could use more moisturing. I did see a few reviews that aren't happy with having fragrance (I'm guessing many have allergies as I do) so one idea might be to add fragrance free options to this new line that looks promising for those who have sensitivities?

The oil based produces breaks my face out. I have very dry skin so I need a very good moisturizer. Can you recommend the products that would be best for a senior citizen with large pores and wrinkles?

Answer:
I am not sure if it has oils in it or not, but you may need to rethink your skincare situation. If you have dry skin you need something with oil in it, otherwise you are not going to get the moisture you really need. Large pores and wrinkles are also accentuated by dryness.

You should reevaluate your skincare routine. What type of cleanser are you using? what type of moisturizer are you currently using? Oil based products alone do not cause breakouts. They are actually good at removing ALL of your make up and the dirt and oil on your face. Not all oils are the same, the oil on your face isn't the same as oil in products. If you are breaking out with oil based products it may be, because your skin is too dry. you should probably consider exfoliating a couple times a week, and ensuring you use the right make up remover to remove ALL of your make up (wipes do not count).

Your skin renews itself daily, with skin cells pushing their way from below to the surface. When your skin gets dry or flaky this can interrupt the process causing a major blockage. Your dry skin essentially traps any dirt, bacteria and etc which can in turn either get infected creating a pimple or bumps.
