7 Ways to Bare
Beautiful Ways to Bare
I had been wanting to buy one of the "nude" or "naked" type palettes for quite awhile, but couldn't decide which one I wanted. Most had too many sparkly colors and since I had just started using (and loving) bareMinerals Original foundation and Blush, I decided to try 7 Ways to Bare. I was not disappointed. They are so smooth and blend beautifully. I've seen reviews that complain of fallout, but if you swirl and tap, there is no fallout at all. The colors are quite neutral and just beautiful. I am really, really happy with them.
Elegant and Gorgeous
Love the eyeshadow Colors! they are soft for a very natural look, This would be great for a gift to someone who is just starting to where makeup.
Great Nude Set!
I bought this as a gift for my sister, and she loves it. She was so appreciative, that she gave me Pamper (copper crayon) and I love it too! The best part about this set is that ALL skin tones can use it. The darker ones (Pamper, In The Nude, Spiced Fig) are great for crease or outer corner application (or alone if you are tan or dark). Pearl Sateen and Nude Beach are great brow highlighters or inner corner application. Chic Nude and Silk Stockings are so versatile, I don't even know where to begin because you can use them anywhere.
Whenever I apply them, they go on smoothly, evenly and stay put. The more matte ones can be given some extra oomph if you apply Primetime Brightening Eyelid Primer underneath it.
Just for comparison, my sister is is Light skin ton and wears Golden Fair. I am Tan and I wear Medium Tan to Golden Tan and we BOTH can use all the colors in this set :)
Perfect everyday palette
I have been looking for some great every day shadows to wear to work and this is it! Just enough of a variety that I can change it up without a lot of effort (efficiency is key in the morning!). I haven't tried the darker shades yet but have loved the first four. They are smaller than the regular shadows sizes but they lasts so long I won't have to get new ones for a while.
Beautiful range of nude shades
I ordered this set of shadows-it was exactly what I'd been searching for. Yes, there are a couple that are very similar colored, but with subtle differences. Being 58, I don't care for brightly colored eyeshadow anymore, and this gives a great look. Since receiving this set I have hardly used my other BareMinerals shadows, which I love as well. With a little practice and experimenting, you can acheive a "you look great" natural look to a classy, smokier eye. I would think any age group would look good in this!
love the colors BUT poor lid construction
i seriously love these colors in the set but I will probably be returning mine because as I was pulling them out of the box the lids almost fell off. I thought it was just one, but pretty much all of them did that. Then even after I had tightened them a little, the lids still felt off and felt like they were coming loose again. makes me feel like i can't take them on trips or anything because the lids will come off and spill and waste the shadow and get it everywhere.
if they fix the lids i would definitely put this at a 5 and re-order it.
I am going to start off by saying that this set is for people who probably don't wear a lot of make-up all the time. Think foundation, mascara and blush. If you want to add a little bit of under-stated colour to your eyes then this set is perfect for you! I am not a huge fan of overly glittery eye shadow so these colours are perfect and have just the right balance of glitter and shine.
The nice thing about it is its versatility. If you play around with it enough you can create a subtle or bold look depending on what you are going for. The colours are close together in shade but there IS enough of a difference. All in all I love this set and am glad I had the chance to purchase it before it is gone! The box it comes in is cute and durable and can hold some of your other BM products as well.
Only con is that the lids don't turn like the face products so once you take the sticky off the shadow gets all over the container.
Here is some feedback from me about 7 Ways to Bare
So I am a medium tan complexion. When I do my eye make-up I first start with the "stroke of light" around my eye to cover any dark circles I may have. Than I use one of my "7 Ways to Bare" to cover from my entire lid all the way up to my brow bone. I like silk stalkings which comes in the 7 ways to bare kit which is a med-light taupe shade that has the perfect amt. of shimmer. After I cover the entire eye area with one lighter shade I will sometimes take a pinkish shade over the lid only than take a darker brown shade and do my crease. I also use a Laura Gellar French Vanilla highlighter in the corners of my eyes and right under my brow bone and under my eyes and up the top of my cheek bones. I wish Bare Minerals would make a baked highlighter like that but they don't. Anyways, I love the 7 ways to bare collection. There are lots of great shades which are perfect for getting that natural look. Hope this helps. XOXO
Had to have Nude Beach Matte
Nice collection of basic neutral shadows great for blending or using as a base for something more dramatic. I grabbed this primarily for the Nude Beach Matte. Nude Beach is one of my favorite eyeshadows and very flattering, so I was excited to have a non-glitter version that could be worn anytime. The colors are all neutrals, some matte, some with a sheen. Most of them are pretty light and I had to build some of them up more than I'm used to with a lot of BE shadows-- depends on your skin tone and tan or no tan, of course. An insert offers suggestions on different ways to combine the shadows and since these are all neutrals, they're great for pairing with a bold lip color or for even doing a retro look.
Not what I expected
Although I didn't return this, it was definitely not what I wanted. I thought the eyeshadows were going to be a little more darker and more glittery. Unfortunately, they aren't. I would try these colors out at the store before buying this product! I wanted a more everyday, neutral kind of eyeshadow.. this is way too light. I definitely need to play around with this product more.
