5-in-1 BB Advanced Performance Cream Eyeshadow Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - null
A good replacement
I was so devastated to see BE stopped making their eyelid primer with metallic tint. It was my go-to everyday primer. After going into a BE store and explaining my sadness about the discontinued item, the associate said this stuff is what they are making to replace my tinted primer. I tried a couple shades and decided on blushing pink.
So far this has been a good replacement! I use it every day as a primer. I only wear it on it's own when I run out of time and need to get out the door. I'm not a fan of the matte look on eyes, which is why I always layer over it. What is most important to me is that it doesn't crease! The only reason I gave this product 4/5 instead of 5/5 is because I feel like the application is a little awkward. I kind of wish it was in a squeeze tube (like my discontinued fave).
Can Double As An Under Eye Concealer!
I tried this product in Candlelit Peach, and it actually worked so well with my skin tone that I used it to pull double duty as an under eye concealer! Be forewarned though - a little bit goes a long way, and it might not be practical to use the sponge applicator. I ended up using my fingers after dabbing on a little bit, as trying to use the applicator gave me too much product.
Best Eyeshadow for me
I bought linen and divine wine and I love both. I started out using a lot of both...big mistake! A little goes a long way. I use the linen as a highlighter and the divine wine on my lids and they stay all day without creasing or fading. The are easy to remove with eye makeup remover or a good facial cleanser. I like my makeup to be subtle especially in the summer and these fit the bill. When it gets closer to winter, I'll probably buy a bolder color or two.
It's a Miracle!
I am 55 with well-balanced skin but, at times, can be somewhat oily. I have tried every eye primer and trick in the book to keep my eyeshadow from creasing and looking ugly by noon. The 5 in 1 is an amazing product. I have been using it for several weeks and no matter what the weather or temperature brings, I haven't had any creasing whatsoever. I now feel confident that my eye makeup will look great all day, and it does! I am using the barely nude shade and it is a bit light for my complexion but it works well with all shades of neutral eye shadows. I wear the BM powder foundation in "Medium" to give you an idea of my skin tone. Love this stuff!
I don't normally like cream shadows--my eyelids are very large and fold a lot when I have my eyes open, so cream shadows always end up smearing and making a big line across my lid. However, I got this as a sample in the mail as a FAB member, and tried it out. I LOVED IT. I couldn't believe it. Not only did it blend across my lid well, but it didn't budge at all once it dried. I ended up with lid SPF protection, a uniform skin tone on my lids, and it brightened around my eyes, as well! I would give this 5 stars, but the color I received was a little bit too pink for my liking. But I would buy this again! And in more colors (dark ones for a natural dramatic eye, neutral light tones for normal).
Brightens, but doesn't last
I love how easy this is to apply- no risk of a mess like I have with the loose pigments. I own the blushing pink, the candlelit peach, the soft linen, and the divine wine. I have not tried the divine wine yet, but all of the others blend in with my skin tone, so my eyes look brighter, but it only works if I am going for the "no makeup" look. I have tried these under my other pigments and it just doesn't last. By the end of the day, all that is left of my eye shadow is caked creases. This never happens when I use the regular eye primers. Great idea, but for me these just don't work.
Love the candlelit peach, hate the creases
I love how smooth this applies - the associate at the store told me it dries very fast, though I didn't have that problem. It applies and blends easily and gives me plenty of time to work with it. The candlelit peach matches my skin tone, but lightens darkness around my eyes and has a very subtle glow. I started out using it on top of my primer, then actually read the info and found it's got a built in primer, so tried it without and sadly it creases significantly by mid-day. I love everything else about it, but it's marketed to have a primer so it's really disappointing that it doesn't have staying power. Regardless I will still use this product and think it's perfect whether used as a base color to build upon or as a stand alone for a more natural look...just have to go through the extra prep with a primer first!
Hope this lasts a long time...
I have several tubes of other primers because they came in different kits that I got during 12 hour sales... Those primers in the tubes never dry out and seem to last a long time... I recieved a sample of this new primer while out of state on vacation. My nearest boutique is an hour away at home and our hotel happened to be across the street from one so I ran over to grab my free sample on the way to a dinner reservation. It came with out instructions or even an explanation of what it was exactly. I first applied it thinking it was an eyeshadow and I was completely turned off. I do not like any type of liquid make up on my face and I couldn't figure out the purpose of a liquid eyeshadow... I have taken the dry, loose powders and foiled them but obviously this no where near that texture or look. Once I got back home and researched and figured out it was supposed to be a "primer", I said "OOOOHHHH"... Sigh. I am not really happy with the long way around trying to figure this product out. Once I started applying it as a primer, it worked much better and I will use it as a primer. I hope that this type of container will keep the product from drying out as you still don't need a lot of product as it goes a long way. This product seems thinner and creamier than the old primers. With 6 tubes of the other primer in my drawer and now a sample and a brand new .07 container of Soft Linen that came in a kit, I have eye primers coming out my ears... I never had any complaints with the old primers and I don't have any complaints with this one either. I think it would just be based on preference of application. The old primers I used my fingers where this one I CAN use a brush, which is nice. One thing I do LOVE about BM is that their products last.
Finally a primer that beats out Urban Decay
I am a hardcore BE fan, but the earlier primers did not smooth on easily and did not work well with other eye shadows. The Linen color is comparable to the UD primer, but it lasts longer and can be worn alone for a simple look. Combined with the READY eyeshadows you have a 12 hour look that stays. I apply the eyeshadow before this dries on my lid.
Would like more colors...
I have this product in 2 shades - Barely Nude and Candlelit Peach.
I like that I don't need to apply primer ahead of time; however, I feel like the colors in this line are all a little too neutral. Great for mornings when you just need something but don't have a lot of time to spend putting your face on. ;)
I am hoping to see more colors in this product in the future.
